I dont know about your battle.net presence, but having a forum of that quality isn't enough to have a good clan.

First of all, to attract intelligent members you need to sound intelligent; Fix your spelling/grammar.

Second of all, more forums in your board.

Third of all, show more effort. The basic modding tutorial, honestly speaking, was quite pathetic.

Forth, show that your a decent modder by putting up one of your mods.

Now, it sounds like you want your clan to be a modding clan.
I really doubt you will succeed.

Look at clan [MM], they have 10 members or so, and they're probably the best modding clan around.
And look at the quality of the leaders; I advise making your clan a regular clan dedicated to one game, as I am almost positive that this will not be a success.

If you do decide to listen to my idea, get a bot or 2, and make on of them trivia ermm.gif

Also, get a CSS and a javascript coder. They work wonders for forums.

I'm not used to editing forums, but I could probably do something in that category happy.gif

Oh, and when I registered and edited profile, I noticed the text and background is red;
Change that.

I made a clan once heres a hint for you Recruit your ass off and get like 10 members no matter what quality because as it turns out usually the newer people A.k.a noobs are more reliable for recruiting than the better members.

Than have those 10 members recruit 5 each to rank up in the clan ect. and you got a pretty big clan going after a couple weeks untill it dies cause the new people quit biggrin.gif

Isn't forming a clan now pretty useless? Starcraft doesn't seem to be bringing in more and more people, but quite the opposite. Your options are either newbs or the people of staredit.net. There's lack of purpose in recruiting either. Recruiting newbs means you'll probably have to spoonfeed them everything (I know this isn't 100% true). However, recruiting people of staredit.net is pretty useless because most of them are already in really good clans, leaving sc, or simply would want to keep their names. I wouldn't bother with creating or enforcing a clan nowadays.

Clans arn't useless, though in some respects you're right.
I wish someone except DEAD from SEN wanted to join my clan. D:

Obviously you misunderstood what I said. I never said clans were useless. I simply said it's useless to make a clan now. And I never said it was "impossible to get good members". I simply said that it was very unlikely to do so.

ok so does anybody know how to edit CSS cause im kinda a noob at that im more of a C ++ guy understand also that some friendds of mine are joining they just been kinda busy and they are just as good at this as i am im not the most talented modder but i can do som good stuff anyways i will take some of the advise give by silver dragon and personaly i think it's actually really smart to start a clan with the old starcraft before starcraft 2 comes out cause that will probally be huge and bring all the old starcraft fans back to it then we can actually have clan wars lol

Creating a forum isn't really needed for a modding clan. You will recieve very little members. This is due to the fact that Modding isn't that big of a generation yet. The best you could probably do is make a clan channel, and make a game that no one joins. The facts are:

Starcraft is more mapping than modding.
Not so many people know what modding is.
I bet you 100% you will not get anyone from creating a game saying JOIN MY MOD CLAN! Doesn't matter what you can do. All I can say for you to do is get some friends, teach them, they join and they tell and teach their friends and so on.

I know this because I'm the leader of [MM]. I barely knew anything from modding until I joined [MM] when Slyence was around. He tought me alot and since I started to get alot better he made be Co-Leader. Now since he has gone I have Voyager as another leader and Torrasque as Co-Leader. The rest are members. There is no need for having ranks in Modding clans unless its Leader or Co-Leader wise.

So this is as much as I can tell you..

As said, don't make it a modding clan. I seriously doubt you'll survive.

What they said, about modding not being big YET.

You should wait until after starcraft dies to form a modding clan.

True... there are many communities out there being supported only by modding.

Or if some geniuses on SEN finally create an Auto-Modder. Modding would rock.
