Just a poll to see where SENers stand. The reason being I've recieved quite a few negative comments from people on Battle.net about my being a modder.
What is your opinion on modding? Does it help or hurt a game community?
I personally think that it helps a community; many of the communities I've been a part of survive only due to modding, or even some where a large percentage of the people in the community don't even play the original game anymore.
OF COURSE! MODDING SHOULD BURN!!! ESPECIALLY THE STARCRAFT MODDERS! LIKE THAT SEN-MOD TEAM! THEY SUCK!
Seriously, modding roxx0rs my b0xxors.
Modding is interesting, and cool to learn.
Also, I like Rome Total Realism, which is a mod for Rome: Total War.. It's pretty cool, if I had a better computer I'd probabaly use it over Rome: Total War.
It's alright, there's really nothing wrong with it.
Whats wrong with modding? Sometimes its for fun others its help improve the game, but mostly its just for fun and curiousity as to howthe game would be if you add/changed/deleted certain things

It's always improving the game. Modders keep developing the game, even after it's been released. I'm all for it... as long as the mod doesn't suck or give you an unfair advantage over other players. (Good things you can't do that in SC... anymore...)
Modding is teh pwnage.
Modding for teh win!
I don't think there is anything wrong with modding. Maybe those guys on Battle.net are a bit "under-educated" in starcraft terms and thinks modding is kind of "hacking".
Of course I support game modding, even Halo.
I support Starcraft Game Modding, but modding games like Halo and other shooters to get auto-aim and such I don't support! THEY SHOULD BURN BURN I TELL YA!
ADDITION:
But modding Halo to like shoot doors out of a plasma pistol I approve of.. BUT AUTO-AIM AND SUCH I DON'T THEY SHOULD BURN BURN BURN~!
theres nothing wrong with it, it keeps games more alive and popular, makes people rich., and i woulda quit half life if there were no mods, anyawys its cool, wats wrong with it really?

The mods I'm talking about are like modding the game to help the player and only the player. ie Auto-Aim, Invincibilty, etc.
Ok first things first... A Mod Is good for fun but when used to modify the game to your advantage over another player its wrong... I support mods as long as it is ONLY used by yourself when not playing with otehr people that wouldn't have it...
This means mods in general not jsut SC like Action Replay and such... those jsut are not fair advantages...
Modding StarCraft isn't such a big deal, because if you don't have modification file, how can you experience it? For WarCraft III, Blizzard totally works with modders, and the modifications over at WarCraft III can be seen by all players by the access of Blizzard.
For other games that uses modifications, sometimes you can experience it without the modification file, but once you have that modification file, you will actually experience what it actually features. Or, the other modifications require an installation, such as Halo: Custom Edition, but only people who has Halo: Custom Edition can view the modifications.
modding is sexy. although i have never played a modded starcraft i have modded several other games. it is fun and enhances game experience.
but i dont really care.
I support modding I made a mod once and it made the game funner to just see units with other attacks even if it occasionally crashed
I dont mind it but it really pisses me off on halo 2 on xbox live
But otherwise l dont really mind it. i <3 modding

Over at Halo 2 on Xbox Live, they can't do it on matchmaking anymore, but then again, it is accessable on Custom Games, which is really fun. Bungie still supports modifications for Halo: Custom Edition what Gearbox has made, just not for Halo 2 on matchmaking.
Modding isn't wrong, but some wrong things can be done with Modding. Like, the Coffee Mod for GTA:SA...BAD...So...I have no opinion either way.
Coffee Modification for Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas? Imagine the vehicles you would drive. Weird name but it does sound interesting.
Bah, it seems we have a mod hater on our hands... Who voted no!(Hopefully they didn't post here.

Dorkhawk, there's your answer.
I assume he voted yes, as he is on the SEN-Mod team.. Also.. look at his final comment.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas should have a mod, called Blood and Crips, Grove Street is called the Piru Street which are the Bloods, Crips is just everywhere that wears blue like the ballars that wears purple. CJ which stands for Carl Johnson should be renamed into Curtis Jackson who is 50 Cent. Any comments?
