B.Net still supports it, been a long, long time since there were any patches though. There isn't many games being played of it either.

I could find D1 in a specialized shop... Like 200kms away from where I live. It was nearly 70$.

"Rare", they said -_-

ROFL
I don't play D, but I have it.
I've never went to the trouble to play it. Is there anything in it better than in D2/D2:LoD?

Yes it is rare, but it shouldnt cost so much. D1 is filled with french talking people who most likely hack, so l wouldnt be so sure about getting back to it. The game is a classic, since it revolutionized the Rpg Market. I have never heard of an expansion for D1.

There was one. It added the Monk class. I never got it, though. I did have a CD called the Green Portal that my uncle gave to me that was like the ultimate D1 Trainer. You could totally screw around with the game from the inside out. I haven't touched it in at least 4 years, though.

ya, the expansion for D1 was called Hellfire. It added the Monk class(uses staves as main weapon), adds a couple new levels(The Nest, The Crypt... or... Tomb Place, and I think one other place). Tons of new enemies, new items, new prefix/suffix, and a buncha other crap.

It also adds 2 "Unofficial" classes, if you know what to do. The Bard(could use 2 weapons!), and the Barbarian(master axeman!). I played Hellfire... it was good for about a month. Same with D1... good, but dies out quickly when I try to play it SP again. Though the mods for D1 are phenomenal... it's boring to play alone/with stupid commie hackers.

Don't buy. closedeyes.gif

The only thing that Original D1 is better at than unmodified D2/LOD, is the atmosphere and the music. Nothing will ever beat D1 for atmosphere/background music. Unbeatable!

Though there are D2 mods that are well done.

Diablo is definatley not a good buy. So many hackers. I somehow got a virus playing it one time.

Diablo 1 is still good if you have some legit friends to play with. And there isn't really many hackers any more (only because not many people play it anymore haha..) but I'd say about 80-90% of the Diablo 1 community use hacks

Sorry but i have to disagree with the consensus here-- Diablo 1 is by far the second best game i've ever played. I still play it regularly as a level 44 legit sorcerer -- HACKER PWNAGE!! -- anyway, while im not using a few tricks i know to crash hackers games, im playing with a few legit members of a clan i will hopefully be accepted into. Yes, there are many good legit players on battle.net if you know where to look. (diablo legits, diablo x, diablo bastion)

Also, if you download a scanner (that i uploaded as a .zip file) you can tell when people are using hacks and know to dodge them, only maybe 35% use hacks, but probably 60% used duped equipment that is non-legit as well.

Avoid these players, or if you are strong enough like me, simply blow the crap out of their newbish asses =).

Hacking Newb: Haha i have 10000 life you cant touch me.
Me: Oh really?
(6-8 fireballs later at 1200-1400 damage each)
Hacking Newb: WTF YOU HACKER!!!
Me: How does it feel to get the censored.gif kicked out of you by a legit player, while using life hacks? You are pathetic scum.
(then i use a trick all good legits know and townkill him so he cant respawn.)
Hacking Newb: censored.gif you. You hack too.
Me: Nope. 100% Legitimate biotch! (they usually leave at this point)

Being a vigilante is fun as hell =)

What's the trick to townkill?
and anyone who actually wants to kill people using cheats would just use godmode, protection from autokill, all the anticrashes you can get, and autokill. or high lvl skill hacks, and telewalk, the most fun cheat ever. Some people don't know a lot of the super strong items are duped, though.
