is it just me or is Battle.net never really have any good games being playing for StarCraft

its all ways Defence map(that i have beaten before) or newb map or rigged maps
there are some good maps but not that often

Thats what we are here for, We make Fun, Non Rigged, Hard maps.
If you cant Find good maps try SEN DLDB, im sure it has Fun maps there to play. If they dont gain your intreast make your own map.

The problem is, bnet doesn't respect quality. Think about your average bnet UMS player. Chances are he's some 10-13 year old who thinks he's (in his own words) "the ", and is an extremely sore loser. He can't spell his way out of middle school, his social skills are atrocious, and he's male. The kind of quality maps we try to produce just aren't appealing to someone who can't spell his own name.

No one really likes the new stuff anymore. I like some of the orginals, but we need a change.

I tend to wander on battle.net every now and then and ive noticed what most people here are saying... being dont respect quality... most maps are terriable.. or relitivly fun but look like crap. Thats why i stick to these private communities that dont really wander on battle.net regularly unless they are testing something with others.

Hopefully I can make it a regular feature, if enough people show up. It'd be sweet to have this every saturday.

the problem with downloading maps from the database is that most people on B.net think that you have play it before and will ask a question every time the map makes them think

Yeah, B.net has it good sides and its bad sides.....hacks..n00bies who say they are not n00bies and curse alot...experts who curse alot, people who hack, steal maps, color hack, etc.... People who ban u for no reason, people who ban u for having a funny name, people who ban u because u 0wned them.....people who say ur map sucks even though it rulz and there jealous, Laggers who say they don't lag and curse u, laggers who don't drop, laggers who lag...Etc..B.net is like..its alive and breathing

thats another thing about people on Battle.net the newbs that come in to games with experts only in the title and when people ask if they are experts they say yes i am, then you play with them and the game last about five minutes

That's precisely what happened to me when I used the accnt. name "The-Host"... \=
B.Net, as a general, is an ass. Well, the people on it are, but, hey, it's the people that make the community.
People will effing ban me because I "talk rite" and crap. And people almost never use anything but whatever strategy allows them to beat so-and-so game with minimum possible thought and effort, i.e. Lurkers and Gols in MC Defense.
Another problem is that the point in Defense Maps is being slaughtered.
Instead of making a maze to trick the computer into going back and forth uintil it dies, it's simply pick the right frggin' units. So annoying.

That is really annoying!!!!!! I hate that!! I liked it better when you had to close them in.

StarcraftGamers made a good non-UMS solution to this: They got their own server. Or "StarGate" as they call it. For those that don't know about it: it's free of lamers, laggers, hackers, etc... and they take steps in order to keep it that way.

Maybe someone who has the ability to or someone who is eager could start another private server for SEN but for only UMS maps.

Yes, I agree, there isn't a lot of variety in the maps on B.net. And the maps that get played frequently are some crappily produced RPG's or another "U71R4 1337 D3F3NC3 M4P!!!!!11". Seriously, it's annoying even for me, and I don't play SC that much... (maybe three times a month, a couple of melee games and a couple of UMS games, just to refresh my skills).

Yes, the weekly Map Night is a good idea.

I dont think private servers are a good idea. SCgamers did it for hack prevention, and in UMS, hacks aren't something to worry about.

i think it would be cool to have a server, that there will be only people from SEN and you know there are no hackers because of BWScanner

too many wore out maps, too little good maps not played enuf.
I'd love to host games but most ppl cant join my games, i have cable and its only used by one computer.

Team Micro Arena Crystal is a pretty good map, though you'd have to wait forever to find a game... or just create it yourself... but as usual some people won't join unless you make the name "Sexy Girl Host" or "Free Porn"... HaHA... also with the new maps coming out and Yoshi's matrix map in the process, I'm sure StarEdit Network will revolutionize StarCraft Use Map Settings worlds...
