I've tested this map out with some players, and they say it's quite a good map.. opinions please!

but hey you know? i dont know what happened but i actualy took the time to open it in the game. First impression was numerous mineralwalls which didnt seem to contribute that much.

It seems to be alot of effects thrown into a map with the only purpose of changing the gameplay alot. The result would mostly anoy me. If you wantd to get as far away from LT as possible, sure you have succeded. But there are other ways.

As for the balance part i think there are too many chokes everywhere. You tried to balance it up with several paths but still there are chokes at critical points where terran can siege up and take several expansion easy. Also the mineral walls are just really anoying and out of fashion. You should find other ways of solving it.

Any suggestions? You mean like widen the choke or something?
(P.S I locked the map because people would steal it... I'll get the pic up soon sorry about that biggrin.gif )
EDIT: I was thinking about removing the expos at 3 o clock and 9 o clock, linking with the expos at 4 and 8 o clock and making a hole in the middle.. how's that idea? I was also thinking of making the gap at 12 o clock and 6 o clock bigger...

Ugly, random, and pointless features. Not to mention it's very hard to even defend your main. Also NOBODY IS GOING TO STEAL YOUR MAP. I have never locked a map, and they have never been stolen.

and what's with the brush by the lower-left corner ramps? It's like, basilica overlapping the edges. Dood wtf?!?!? And for next time, perhaps a bigger main and smaller nat.

Those mineral blocks are going to be a pain in the ass. Unit AI cannot detect mineral walls and I'm pretty damn sure that when you send your units from your base to the other, they will end up trying to walk through the corridor where the min blocks are and thus, getting stuck. I'd trash it because I don't find it necessary and that you also have anti lift minblocks blocking the way.

isnt too bad all things considered.

but i think terran would be waaaaaaay rigged on here...look at all the small chokes.

and as millenium said, you have achieved the uber gayness with mineral blocks...when those are mined out, its just another choke. but since none are really that far away from another, some tanks at the left and right mid exps like between the choke and mineral block can cover both...

also all the ridges.... ridge + tank = ...wink.gif

and i see why you would do the mineral blocking, otherwise the mains would meet too early on ground, which they still 'sorta' do...but i see why you did that. (the mineral blocks at top mid exp).

i dunno, i dont think i'd really wanna do serious games on it. does look sorta pretty though. I don't like the all one-tile thing, but i'm guessing the asthetics aren't all worked out.

still better than any map i've made recently.
