I've been considering getting Dawn of War for a long time now, and with the new expansion pack coming out, I decided to try the demo.

It seemed unecssarily complicated to me. A particular dislike of mine was the Strategic and Critical points. In SC, I don't need a "Strategic Point" location thing that I need to capture in order to make me realize the location has value. I much prefer the SC method where players determine strategic locations themselves.

Another annoyance was the low unit cap. 20 unit cap for infantry and 20 for vehicles, where the most basic infantry squad takes up 2 cap? Wtf...

Have you played it and enjoyed it? What are your thoughts?

Yeah, but there's also a RTS called Dawn of War that's based off of it.

I play it.

It's different from SC, accept that.

Strategic points are resource nodes that don't need peons.
Squads can go up to about 10-15ppl in a squad for the same 2unit caps.
Vechicles are powerfull and cost alot, you won't really build 20/20 ;]
Orcs have a 100 infantry cap.

Hell ya I enjoy it smile.gif

I play it, its a lot of fun, definitly a different feel than starcraft, and theres a learning curve, but its still an awesome game.
