I've got the $$ and a pretty good new comp. So, for those of you who have it:

1) How much time per day does it take to get anywhere?

2) Is it worth the $$?

3) What sort of system would be needed to play without hinderance.

1) If you only play a couple of hours a day, then it'd probably take you about 3 months or so to get to level 60. Obviously, the more you play, the faster you gain levels. It only takes about 5 minutes to get from level 1 to 2, but it takes a few days to get from 59 to 60, for instance.

2) It's a very very very good game. Blizzard must put crack in their games, cuz they're all addictive, especially WoW. It will consume your life if you let it. I had to stop playing because it started interfering with my schoolwork and spending time with my son. My little brother plays about 12 hours a day, almost everyday for the last year.

3) I don't know much about computers, so I'll just say get a good comp. heheh. Hopefully someone more computer literate will post here. tongue.gif

Check out the recommended requirements for a good computer. The only thing I know is that you need a good Video Card or you lag like hell.

Counter-Strike: Source is x10 more addicting I think. If you like FPS' get CS:S. Better than WoW.

Depends on how good the new computer is, and how much time you have. I got it for Christmas (so now I don't have to go to my friend's house to get on their account!) and I just so happen to have the box right here. Minimum requirements are:
  • Windows 98 or higher (Low requirement)
  • 800 MHz processor (Pentium 3 - Medium requirement)
  • 256 MB RAM (Medium to high requirment)
  • 32 MB 3D graphics card with Hardware transform and Lighting (NVidea GeForce 2 - Medium to high requirement)
  • Latest video drivers (DirectX 9.0c included - High - medium requirement)
  • 5.0 GB available Hard Drive space (High requirement)
  • 4x CD-ROM drive (Low requirement)
  • 56k or better Internet connection (Low requirement)
If you want the game to run well, you should probably have about 1.5 to 2 times better than that.

It does not take 1-2 hours per day for 3 months to hit level 60. It takes 10-12 hours per day for 3 months to hit level 60.

The game sucks once you hit 60 unless you aren't playing it for fun.. and it really isn't that much fun in the meantime unless you have fun people to play with. But if you had friends, you wouldn't be playing video games now would you?
