I just got a new computer thats sitting in my room. Its got internet and I can play SC fine unless Im in a game with 3 or more people. When I played on my dads computer(same house) everything was fine... But now even if I play on his computer I still have bad latency. I CANT host and I CANT play games with 3 or more people without lagging like censored.gif Can anyone help?

PS I got wireless internet...

It's a router or firewall problem. You can fix by opening some ports somewhere (dunno which ones), or temporarily fix it by having people join someone else's game you're in, and join yours.

That, or you have gay dsl.

The wireless connection is probably lousy.

"to high lantecy" that msg? well if it is just have the maker of the game that had that msg join a game you made. that always works for me. But most likely its your or his connection

It's port 6112 to 6119, UDP and TCP.

However, if you live in NZ or Aus... then it probably won't work.

start -> run -> cmd -> tracert useast.battle.net
That will help you pinpoint the lag, just take a look at where the big numbers or timeouts are.

holy crap dude, same thing happened to me.

i got 56k, it works better for sc...

its the way my dsl worked, it lags really strangely with 3 or more ppl, and the bnet tech support dude told me to do what moose is tellin you to do. (fyi, it didnt do jack.) I opened ports, closed firewalls, etc, it just wont work.

i dunno. sc is an old game with some badly designed bugs in it...

you might wanna try bliz tech support, maybe they found a solution to a problem i dont have anymore. thats the way they are, hehe.

sorry i cant be of more help. o yea, mine wasnt wireless.

DSL is just a poor gaming internet service. Comcast in my area is too. It keeps crashing, but it's hella fast.

I dunno how to open ports sad.gif

I got to this one part with my firewall to open the port 6112. But I have no clue what to enter for the UDP and TCP.

It's definately your firewall/router if it is a consistant thing.
If you have no firewalls activated and have a router, you should try opening your ports.

half of that isnt true...it worked awesome for Uneal Tournament, diablo 2, orig diablo, war 3, tft, (no I don't play it anymore, and when I did, I was never fond of the actual melee mode, so don't flame me for being a heretic) hmm...what else...duke nukem 3d...played that on KALI while my 1 month free subscription was still active. cool spanish dude I would always play with, heh

everything worked good except for starcraft.

and to be honest, i don't know why starcraft is so good, i only play it because i love the player vs player aspect and some of the custom maps are amazing.

but dsl worked for me for everything else. and all the melee games i play are 1v1 or 2v2 anyway, but i haven't won a public 2v2 in over a year, so...; ) it was acceptable for me.

If you need help setting up your router's port forwarding then visit this site.
To use the site you first pick your router(they have a large list of common routers), then you do ctrl+f and search for starcraft(or just scroll down to the S section and find it), after that you just click the link and it'll walk you through on how to setup your router to work for starcraft(it gives the ports required and it usually comes with pictures to show what the setup should look like once your done biggrin.gif).
