Staredit Network -> Ideas -> Engines

I use game maker and the game maker forums and noticed that alot of "engines" are created. These "engines" are sorta like half made games. Whoever downloads it then finishes the game with all of their ideas.

Anyway, I was wondering if that would work on SC.
What do you think?

What do you mean by working on SC?
Making a game similar to SC with these engines?
If so, it can be possible...

Edit: But not with gamemaker xD

It would be possible with gamemaker it would just be alot of work to get it to work as for just maps I doubt that thats possible

There already are kind of engines you can use. Isn't that one purpose of the expirimental map catagory?

Dats not a good idea cuz wats the point of making a half map if u cant have the other half and make it the same as ur idea with ur half. Also there would be many versions of it. Mainly it would suck unless 2 map makers or more are in sync.

yeah there are too much noob map makers that will save it under the same file name and add stupid stuff that will overwrite other versions. and sometime the maker of the engine will not recieve credit.

If you look at many of the earlierest maps, like golems, bunker wars, kings and knights, evolves, etc, those games are similer to "engines". They weren't exactly done the best way they could've, so people redid them many times. It did not affect that they were engines, becuase some of those games are the most played ones today.
