i can't delete the doors on my map in scxtra, not matter what level i view them in, unit, doodad, etc. Is there a way to delete them? if not, do you think a "kill all DOOR at location" would work? searched and i've read most tuts and faqs so forgive me if i overlooked something

To delete doodad doors in SC-Xtra first line up a new door exactly on top of the one your trying to remove (the box will turn red). Right click to deselect placement of the door then left click then press delete.

Its one of the random mapmaking tips. There also easy to delete in Starforge and mostlikely SCM Draft

Actually, and easier way is just to click on it. Don't to a drag select, just a still click. You wont see a circle, but it IS highlighted. You can do whatever you want with it now.

You dont need to line up anything. I outta change that tip tongue.gif

Just click the centre, and press enter and its properties might appear, otherwise you can just remove it.

You guys must be using a differant editor than I am. (Maybe its Xtra 2.6) But when i place a door i can't remove it unless I do the trick I mentioned or sometimes it works when i place a bunch of units around the door select them and delete. Its the same with darkswarm distruption web and things like that.

Its 2.6 then. I haven't tried it previously with 2.5.

Maybe you should just indacate for Xtra 2.5

If you have a unit selected you can always tell because it's name is displayed on the sidebar of the bottom in any StarEdit based editor to the right of the units count. Only works for SINGLE units though, not multiple units.

Actually, on SCMDraft 2 it shows all units selected in a mass, for you to edit as one, or as a group. SCMDraft 2 rules! 2.6 i find better than 2.5. Just my view though.

I just can't ignore the stupid stuff they did like make new image buttons for triggers and such. And then they rename the Move trigger. They further more insult my inteligence by adding a character map like windows doesn't have one already.

Also i think resizeing the trigger window larger is pointless. Its not like the triggers don't fit in the window. These things were ok for 5 years or whatever before 2.6 was released and then they decide that its all wrong. The problem is the people who make these map editors don't really make maps much themself. They don't seem to realize what is wrong untill people complain about things.

Character map - Dont use
Image buttons - You get used to it. Plus the order is the same
Move trigger - That DOES piss me off actually, but it only takes an extra second of thinking
Resizing the trig window - the best feature in my opinion. It gives me more space to view more triggers. Expecially with matrix, which the triggers are massive.

I can't even resize the trigger window. It's just one size and that's it(really fuckin huge). The window gets in my way. Well I now do triggers with Starforge. I'm starting to slightly get used to it. It's better anyways.

Meh...Starforge Confuses me....You have to type in the Freaking Triggers ranting.gif

Just click on the door, as said before.
YA, I hate the new buttons too. And the renamed trigger. GAW that was annoying.
"NOW WHERE THE HELL IS THE MOVE UNITS TRIGGER, THIS IS GETTING ANNOYING!!"
Bleh.
I've never really tried using SF's trigger editor, though I might.
X-tra has a keymap? Cool. I'm too lazy to make a shortcut to it on desktop or go through my start menu, and I like having everything just aclick away. Heh. Meh. Bleh.
I don't mind the bigger trigger window in X-tra.

I've been struggling with the renamed Teleport action for a fricking year now. Every single time I try to construct a trigger with the Move Units action I have to do this brain-halt thing. It really throws off my train of thought.

Then Upgrade back to 2.5 Nozomu. Don't put up with its crap.

I make complex triggers in 2.5 all the time and i never felt the need to increase the window size. The width can't be a issue so it must be the height.

Also I remember Suicidal Instint Said that it is impossable to make the trigger window resizeable in a StarEdit Mod. I wouldn't remember or even begin to understand why.

This is exactly why I kept 2.5 in the DLDB. Everyones mixed between them.

I still like the trigger editor and the automatic colors, so I'm sticking with 2.6 for now.

Bolt, its a little mean to insult the creators, these are amazing tools, and i think it was renamed for the German Version mainly, though SI is right, it is because thats some part of hte coding, and chaging, will one, you couldn't.

I prefer the larger size, and i don't view the screen behind hte triggers, so not a problem. And using 2.5, it really is annoying the small screen, just doesn't work for me. I run off 1024 resolution and its perfect.

Resolution isn't a issue for me I’m running Dual Monitors at 1152x864.

I recall after i installed it the window was so large that it filled up the monitor on the left and went onto the right one. This was shortly after it came out and its been a while. But I'm pretty sure I wasn't running 800x600 then. (that res looks nasty on a 19".
