I had always loved Madness style games. When I played my first Golems map I was hooked. My friends and I would play Golems for hours on end, always willing to try new versions in hope of finding the Holy Grail of Golems maps. Some time in 2002 we stumbled across "Golem Madness Upgraded!!" and really enjoyed the features it offered. The only problem was that it was terribly unbalanced. If you didn't choose marines, you lost. Soon cheating became rampant. People would exploit every little bug in the map, and it started to affect the fun-factor. The perfectionist in me knew that this map could be bug free... and more.

It was this reason that I started work on Golem Madness Balanced in May 2002. It was my first time fiddling working on a UMS map, so it was a little daunting to have to learn what each trigger did and how to use them correctly. I would work on it for about a week, get frustrated and not touch it for a year, then start working on it again next May. I'm not sure why, but May really makes me want to fiddle with Starcraft maps. Anyway, even though it was my first time fooling around with triggers and the such I was sure to quadruple check each trigger to make sure everything was working correctly and bug-free. Finally in November 2005 I decided the map was done! There's always new features I want to add, but I think the map is what I envisioned in 2002.

Give it a try and let me know what you think, and definitely let me know if you find any bugs!
