i bought fire emblem around christmas time and i started playing it today. it was pretty fun and cool i spent 3 hours playing it. it has that classical RPG feel like the ones way back on your playstation and N64. the RPGs today dont really focus on the fun factor but on the graphics and useless stuff.

the combat system is somewhat like FF Tactics and it requires both leveling and smarts.

the bad thing about it is that it is just battles you dont get the chance to walk around the world or buy new equiptment. instead you get weapons from slayn enemies.

i like how nintendo has good RPGs that have a more classical feel to it. one of my most favorite RPGs is skys of arcadia.

anyway anyone bought fire emblem?

I played it on GBA. It was pretty good.

This is like Fantasy Advance Wars. This is one of the best strategy games in my opinion. The GBA version was great, but I got stuck at the level before the last one. The Gamecube version takes this gmae to the next step, I think.

yeah theres animation for it and stuff. however the cinematics arnt that great. the backgrounds are paintings and the characters are in 3d so it doesnt look that good... the characters are nicely made tho.

You know, Advance Wars was once crack on my GBA. I soon realized time was slipping TOO much, I even played through the morning a couple times!

So I turned off the battle animations and realized how much FASTER games actually go.

My point is that AW took a while before you get to the end. Even if you are losing, you can still waste time by making units, etc.

So I did play FE, but I have the same issue with the slow paced thing. I'm more of a fan where your guys are the same strength everytime you play a round like Starcraft, where a 3/3 zergling from your last game becomes a 0/0 again.

I never played FE on cube, but perhaps you can tell me some differences from the GBA versions.

Let's see here:

1)The ability to make custom weapons after Ch.7
2)The unfortunate lack of a map mode
3)Awesome cut scenes
4)Laguz units (people who transform into beasts)
5)A different class change system (AGAIN...)
6)The presence of skills which you assign to units e.g. Vantage, which allows the unit to always strike first.
And the list goes on...
