Staredit Network -> Melee Production & Showcase -> My Map: (2)Altar Quest

This is a map that I made a while ago. It used to be called (2)Afternoon to Afterlife, but I Recently changed the name to (2)Altar Quest after I made some minor adjustments that changed gameplay by a great deal. Let me know if you see any flaws or if you have any suggestions for improvement.

One of the things I feel that it needs is an extra entrance to the top right and top left expansions. I would add this entrance above the expansions right onto those cliffs. This would make it a bit harder to defend. The small bridges that currently serve as your choke aren't big enough for anything to make it past a few sieged tanks. I'll submit my fixed version...

[sub]Heh, you make maps alot like I do, or so it seems. I love the map, the only thing I would change is not make all the doodads and terrian type be perfectly symmetric. I think it would look a bit nicer if you made the terrian more 'rough'. I hope you understand what I mean.[/sub]

Yeah, I understand what you mean. I usually do make my terrain rough and more natural, but for this map I decided to go perfectly symetrical. I don't know why... I think most of what makes the map balanced is it's symetry; i think i can do something about the doodads though. If I changed that, I might screw the whole map up. But I have to agree that perfect symetry is a bit unprofessional. To able to make a balanced map with rough terrain is what makes a pro professional.

I think the problem with a map like this is that the flow is a bit divided. Most pro maps don't have that, or any I can think of. But, I think it is an interesting idea, it seems the beginning will have most action on the bottom and then work its way up, its a cool concept for a 2 player map although you don't see it at all. How many mins are in the block?

What do you mean by: "In the block" ?

ADDITION:
Oooo I think I know what you mean...

If you're talking about the two mins at the North of each base: 128 mins each.

I think the map's pathways are a bit narrow. I'd widen some of them up.

Yea pathing in this map is quite odd.

I'll take another look at the map and fix those paths. I'll post the updated map soon...
