Most of us compress WAV's for our maps. Heres a question: which compression you use?
Myself: PCM 11.025 kHz, 16 Bit, Stereo (43kb/sec)
If quality doesn't matter, I go all the way down to PCM 8.000 kHz, 8 Bit, Mono. And if quality does matter, I will use higher ones until I get the sound I want.
8 bit isn't good. Staredit doesn't compress em. use the lowest 16 bit instead.
8 stays lower than Staredits compression though, i've tried it.
But the quaility is better

I'm with Chu, 8-bits are much better for Staredit if you want the smallest size possible.
yeah 8 bit! I don't exactly get how starcraft compresses a 16 bit sound file "better" because it still is bigger than a 8 bit one... Check the properties

, I think the ratio is about 8-10 kbs per second of sound?
