Has anyone else played Age of Empires III? I didn't enjoy it as much as the previous versions.
Getting Shipments from the Home City and upgrading it seemed like a pain in the ass. Explorers seemed rather weak, and collecting the "Stranded Whatever" treasures was hardly worth it. (Woo hoo, a free Musketeer!

)
Visually, however, it's an amazing improvement. I haven't tried the single player camapaign yet... we'll see.
I finished the campaign already. It's a nice story.

I like the older one better as well. RTS games are getting way too complicated now. The shipments and all the stuff you trade around at the docks. Sure the graphics are good and is more realistic but I gets to a point where being too realistic is no fun. AOE III is still a good game but I like the gameplay of the second one.
I won't buy it. It reminds me too much of the old, crappy DOS colonizer gaems which I wasted my time on.
[sub]Try the campaign, its very fun, I enjoy it over killing comps. Online is fun too.[/sub]
I still don't think it's any better than Empire Earth though. That game really defines the AoE-style subgenre of the RTS.
I thought it was a good game, did anyone think it was a good game?
I want to try it out but no store rents PC games. and if one does please tell me! lol.
the campaign was awsome but i find that the multiplayer is very boring and repetative.
How's it boring and repetative?
Seriously, this game pwns!
I'll stick to Rome Total War, and occasional Civilization 3 for my RTS fill-up.
Which reminds me to get Civlization 4.
I've played the demo of AoE III and I can't say I liked it. It seemed too confusing. AoE and it's expansion were the most fun out of them all, but AoE II wasn't so bad.
i love this game <3 i <3 all aoe games though

i tried the demo at a friends house.
i prefer the original. the whole shipments from mother country thing was cool in the new innovative mechanism..but not really what i want in an RTS
