I recently signed up for B.netX. I went online and was very dissapointed. There was on average two games every time i looked in the game list. Of these two games, none of them were accesable. Also, I can't create games. Is there something I'm missing here? What does it take to actually play a game on B.netX

I think you are supposed to get somebody else in the room to create a passworded game and then you join it. And do you have the map pack that came with it?

Yeah, I downloaded all the files required to play on B.netX. But both me and my friend couldn't make or join games, I guess I'll have to try getting a stranger to make one.

lol You are supposed to message people for a game, you can only join passworded games. If you want I can play you, but then again we could play on reg SC so I could use PP.

Yeah, I guess that makes sense...but then why couldn't I make a passworded game? Because I tried one with a password...

Hmm, maybe you did something wrong booting it up? Like turning on SC before BnetX..

i doubt it...i've been having the same problem.

every time i go to make a game (including those with passwords set to "one vs one" or "top vs bottom"), it says that the game name already exists and i cant make it.

and i havent attempted to join any, except ardens (we were tryin' this out together), and it didnt seem to work for either of us

First of all,its called B.net/Battle.Net and not B.NetX.
You could try to reinstall Starcraft,tried that?

Cheesy, hes talking about something called battle.net X, which is a third party melee battle.net that has several anti hacking measures and a ladder that isn't filled with winbots.

Yeah, basically, although as I said, theres some anti cheat stuff, which is launched as a seperate program, and you have to have a legit email adress to get an account on it.

I've also had problems with B.net-X lately. Cant join or create, not even passworded games.

How does it stay hack free? I mean, if this is some new technology then they should definitely give a heads up to the bnet crew. Or is it just an overly moderated server? I think that's it. Overly moderated.

[sub]Battle.net X is the PGTour Server. There is no UMS because it is a stictly a melee ladder. More information at PGTour.net[/sub]

Since I downloaded it a long time ago, when I click Multiplayer on Starcraft, I have 5 servers (BnetX, USEast, West, Europe, Asia). The anti hack thing is this program that you have to run in the backround I think. The people on there are extremely good at melee.

6 digit salaries XD I honestly can't think of a reason UMS would need a private server... it's not like people hack in UMS =P Don't pay for something when you have something just as good for free.

ADDITION:
Also, you can make/join public games, and for a while, it was encouraged. I joined a public game in the ladder just last week.

You know, the starcraft itself? Starcraft was designed as a melee game, not a do whatever you want.
