Yes, I'm sure many of us are aware that lately, we've been having fake death topics after the passing of nuclearrabbit. This specific topic is simply recommending that any death topics whatsoever should be closed or even deleted, since chances are during these months, it's fake. Sorry, but even if the death is real, our sympathy is starting to run dry and our doubts are rising rapidly. If a user "dies", please don't bother posting a death topic. Its very safe to say that it now annoys all of us to no end. I also request that if a person DOES put a death topic now, that they should be banned. If a person dies, they're not going to be using that account anymore, and if they want to be an idiot and play dead, fine, let them be dead to staredit.net. This may sound harsh at first, but I find it perfectly logical.
My friend/brother/sister/cousin posted a death note while I was away from the computer!
You know what? Tough. Learn to monitor your computer if that's the case. Take your friend/brother/sister/cousin out of your room, and lock the freaking door. That's enough to portray a point. Of course, we know this isn't the real case. Stop being an attention whore. Yes, you have seen nuclearrabbit's death topic and saw all the attention that got. Don't fake your death because, NEWSFLASH, everybody gets pissed at people who do that!
Devil_O_Duce, you said that your brother got grounded for two weeks for putting a death note on a site? Why would your parents care? Yes, since they seriously care that he tricked a bunch of people online that they don't even know. I'm highly confident that we all know who the real culprit is.
XxPacmaynexX, if your friend was over, I don't think he would've been able to start a topic on a site he wasn't familiar without being caught by you with the time given to use the restroom. And if you did take some huge dump, why would you leave the computer so exposed? Let's look at the times of the posts. The difference between them is two hours, the perfect amount of time to get some reactions and respond later with "apologies". Sorry, a friend posting a death topic is easily preventable and I simply don't buy it.
You two in particular got warnings, but others in the future should be banned.
I can sympathize with people who have irritating friends/siblings, so I don't think they should be banned. Suspended, for sure. Banned, no.
Hear! Hear! I agree.
Besides, faking death in that manner is extremely disrespectful to people that actually die. If you want attention, then do something remarkable. Don't say you've died just to see the response and then come back with "Oh wait, my (annoying relative) got to the computer." Even if you convincinly faked your death, most people won't care and it will be yesterday's news within a couple of days.
