Ok this crappy program has decided it is going to crash my computer every time I use it, again. It really makes me nervous when it does that too.
Shortly after starting up Starcraft, after logging onto battle.net my computer will all of a sudden shut down. When it does, a siren sound is emitted from the internal speaker in my tower. Needless to say that sounds really bad so I quit. I have already reinstalled once because it was crashing before. (although it just froze didn’t shut my computer down)
Anyways I can still play Starcraft if I go down stairs I guess. But that would require going down two flights of steps to use the crappy computer down there to play it. (it won’t happen much)
Hopefully this will end my career with Starcraft although, I can still technically make maps and I might. And i don't forsee loseing intrest in this site and related stuff for a while. (Damn I wish I never played this game)

Well, usually, if that happens to me (it happened once in a game a long time ago) what eventually happened was that I formatted my computer, and reinstalled everything. Worked fine after that. Of course, there was the other time where a game I just installed corrupted by system, and had to get a motherboard. How the hell did that happen, I have no idea. Anyways, the moral of this story is, if you can, backup your data and reformat. Then try SC again.

Well i found out recently that it doesn't just do it in Starcraft. It did it in windows explorer when loading alot of thumbnails once. And the last two times i played Unreal Tournament 2004.
I will not reformat my computer just to play starcraft. I don't know what the deal is but now i can't play UT04 and that really pisses me off.

off if have to reformat just for it. I have 94 Gigs of hard drive space used up. That’s a lot to redo.self censored lol

- Your video card.
- The driver set for your video card (this would include tweaks/misc. programs).
- Any new software you've installed.
- If you have any spyware/viruses crawling around (scan your computer).
- Your OS

It's not a problem with the video card.
I have some niffty radion card. I always forget my video card. I didn't install anything new and my OS is win2000pro. I need to scan for spyware anyways.
Besides I didn't come here for help on fixing my problem. Just to complain that i had it and that hopefully i will quit SC.

I have known them to work for a year now.
I was told normaly only the first slot goes bad. (or something like that)
Edit: My comp crashed yet again about a hour ago. I removed the 512 memory sticks in slots 1 and 2 and seems to be running fine now. (been running SC for about half a hour with no crashing).
