A lot of people will probably need a new computer to run Vista smoothly. Graphics, it uses 64 bit colour and 512 ram works but it is too slow for it you should get 1 gig ram. If I get it, which I won't be getting once it comes out, I'll need a new computer.

Very profound of Windows.

Haha... 3d? why? it probably takes more time to load than XP... But that is a new feature that would only confuse people.

When i start getting hang of how to do stuff on ME, XP came out. When i get hang of XP, Vista comes out.... sheesh... Microsoft just gotta keep improving...

It's just another way for them to suck the debt out of the ignorant people of the world, and make themselves even more in debt.

I honestly think all of these new OS's are dumb. I'm capable of doing pretty much anything on Windows 2000 Proffesional. The only things I can't do...(To my knowledge anyway)
  • Dungeon Siege II
  • Battlefields 2 (I think)
  • Writing on MSN
And seeing as I don't really want to do any of those, what am I missing?

I was thinking about how it can be used and why they would think of it... Have you ever had alot of windows open and you had to move them out of the way to get to the page you want? Happens to me alot especially with pop-ups or multiple folders open. The 3d viewing makes it so I can see all the pages at once. I've gotten used to using the Alt-tab key when I when I lost my window, but it looks like Vista has upgraded that too with little screenshots of the page instead of program icons.

3d is indeed unnecessary. It is however, VERY good at turning heads. If you had this open on your desktop on your laptop and some one walking by were to see it they would go "OMG WTF THAT'S CRAZY!" Yea I think it's just a fun feature. I do however expect my vision to become horriblly jacked up from having to view everything at a perspective because everything is slanted like that. I never found out why it was necessary to view it in 3d when Alt+Tab is there to save the day. Oh btw, to all the XP users, windows is no longer working on any patches for XP (at least not any huge major changes like the last few we got). We are done. We are obsolete. They want us to get vista. They want to make money.

ADDITION:
And they want to make us upgrade our crap computers. Go 32bit gfx card with 64mb ram gogo!

I wanted Windows Vista a long time ago.. in 2005.. I got a dvd iso and mounted it and the installation was half-way through and then it had to restart comp to finish.. and it unmounted the image.. canceled the installation.. grr.. couldn't find any way to get it to stay mounted -.- and dvd drives + dvds = two exspensive

I hate having to wait till the end of 2006 for the public release sad.gif

I'm definantly not going to pay for it though.. nope.. microsoft don't get to steal anymore of my money. smile.gif

It's not like patches to XP are really neccesary, I live with an outdated version of 2000 fine. I'm not changing, and if I HAVE to change, I probabaly will switch to Mac smile.gif even if it's not made for gaming, it'll keep me paying attention to school smile.gif

I dont need 3d or anything like that. yeah, going XP -> Vista is kind of like going Mac OS 10.3 -> 10.4 I bet.

There will be 32-bit and 64-bit editions. I hope that the 64-bit edition really utilizes 64-bit processors, which will be a huge boon for computing.

IE7 looks pretty cool... mabye it will get the FF users to shut up about how IE sucks.

IE7 will still be obsolete.

You still need a 32-bit emulation layer or else you cant use 32 bit windows programs.
