Darkness... and the unknown.

Are humans afraid of the things they don't know and what does that become?

Do they go into further extents than just simply darkness?

Death as well is unknown... so we sterotype and bring prejudice upon death before truly knowing death.

Anything else anyone wanna add?

Replies on my silly questions and etc.

I fear darkness, but yet, it intrigues me. I fear it, because it hides many things, but it intrigues me, because it hides many things that have some worth. I fear the unknown, because, well, the unknown can be harmful.

Interesting...Darkness is something that can fool the eyes of the Human. Darkness overshadow's the truth that truly lies within. Darkness is something that is also unusal as well. Darkness can take in many forms, as well as the light.

Humans tend to fear what they don't understand. You can see endless examples, suicide bombers in Iraq, gays, ect. Whether humans are afraid of the dark and the like, I really don't know. People prefere to be in lighted areas in general. Whether this is because they want to see better or theres some psychological factor that tells them to get in the light.

darkness hides the boogieman. what you need to do to conquer your fear of darkness is get a 12 gauge and go looking for that illegitimate child. no boogieman no fear closedeyes.gif

I may just be an unusual person, but I love the darkness. If the world would allow me, I would be nocturnal. But alas, the world works when the sun is high and bright, and I happen to live in this world.

From the light, you cannot see what hides in the darkness.
From the darkness, you can see perfectly what resides in the light.

ADDITION:
As for death, as a human I instinctivly fear it, but logically it is yet another dark area on the map, itching to be explored and charted.

Yet since evidence seems to show that once you die, you can never live again, I'd preffer to drag out my life as long as possible, simply to see all I can before I pass the gate through which I may never return.

I don't really have much opinion of darkness to light, as long as it is not too bright.
I've always had this strange hbit of closing my eyes when I walk in a pitch dark room, it makes no difference, so I do it.

I suppose I have never been afraid of the dark, because most of the year is almost completely dark. (Right now we get about two hours of sunlight. So the sun rises and sets while I am in school and I hardly get to see it.) In the summer is the opposite, and it can be bright as day at 11:00 pm.

Darkness is only scary to people who stress during the time their senses adjust and feel vulnerable. Of course, stressing doesn't really help. There really isn't much else to say.

Darkness, everywhere there is darkness. You can't deny it.

For death, yes I do fear it. For all as I know, Death can lead to two things.
1. Nothing, not-hing, meaning you cannot think, see, feel, dream, or any concious feeling that was given in our mortal life. I'd prefer this instead of hell.
2. Going to hell or heaven, mostlikely hell, because Sin needs to be purged, and have strong faith, as all the "Christ" related religions say. I don't think I have a strong faith and a good moral.

I also believe people are afraid of what they can't see, know about, or understand. I like the dark but when you know something is with you in the dark and you can't see them I would be scared. Though I am not afraid of what I don't understand.

If you're not afraid of something you don't understand, then, you're just plain foolish, and should try to warn yourself to be careful around what you cannot understand.

This is kinda strange... I don't really like the dark. It has little exeptance.
You are scared of it at first; But once you actually step in it, it's sw00t.

The only worry is there might be "something" else hiding in the dark also that you really, really don't want to meet.

The thing is, Darkness hides many things. And one thing I don't like is suprises. I mainly stick to the light, Becuase I don't like things popping out of nowhere.
Not becuase I am afraid of what I don't understand; I simply hate it when you suddenly find something very very bad, When you could not forsee it. Suprise is the enemy in a way.

So by liking darkness you're effectively blinding yourself from seeing most things, unless there is light.

I think the reason that darkness scare most of humans is that because we have eyes...

"Without lights our eyes are useless, without eyes the lights are uselss" confused.gif What the hell why I said that for, yeah, thats my quote now uh huh

Okay so you need both eyes and lights, because without both of them, then why do you live for... its even more painful than death. Always dark, I rather losing both of my arms or legs instead of losing my sigh bangin.gif

i think the reason its becuz you can't see anything
just imagine you enter a dark cavern you cannot see what's going to happen so the brain starts to think bad things like maybe an alien or something bad its going to catch you and kill you so its actually not the darkness but the brain that makes you feel like you are scared of it tongue.gif to my opinion enter your closet turn off the lights and enjoy the darkness in fact i like darkness when my parents are not at home and nor my sister i turn off the lights and sometimes i fall asleep too tongue.gif

I agree with that fear is caused by unknown things in human mind. Lets take example of many horror movies. many of them describe unknowns. I want to take example of Ring II, but I have yet to watch it. But Im assuming it has to do with the unknowns of the shadows.

Scary things come from the unknown, we all know that.
It's just a fact. It's a given. It's something we all must accept. Sure we can always hide under a blanket to mask our fears, yet this masking of our fears will no longer be present when the blanket itself becomes swoon to darkness. Ooo! Poetic pwnage.
