I line mine up manually. I use the directional pad in SCXE and count squares.

And could you clarify your solution, please.

Edit- Nevermind, found out you can create map revealers.

But would it still be possible to switch controlers?

You can give them you know. Just give them at anywhere to another player.

I only use Staredit and Starforge when I make my maps, but in StarForge they give the option of placing Map revealers all nice and perfect. In StarForge, Tools > Map Revealers, checkmark the box ALL or individual boxes belonging to the player(s) that you want map revealers to be given to. Sometimes (96x96 maps) you may have to add a final row at the right/bottom of the map.

Also, this places revealers over the ENTIRE map. Useful for Bounds, Defense maps, and other special scenarios that it may apply to. You are otherwise better off placing them by hand in maps like RPGs and such.

I wish I knew that before I made the 35 locations. crazy.gif

Oh well. That helps out a lot.

You made locations for them? To create them or to give them away?

Remember that they cannot be killed by location, i think you have to remove them. Also i use SCMDraft 2 which just places them perfectly every time you add them for players, without overlapping or out of map problems. Then any i don't want i just remove.

when i add them i use the arrows on the keyboard then count out ten up, down, right, left, for each square then place it. All manual dont really want to take the time to set up the triggers and location layers.

I also go to properties to switch to other players.

I know quite a bit about map revealers-- thats how the anti-minimaphack works. If someone turns on a minimap hack in a game like snipers, they would know exactly where their opponent is. However, a fellow sniper and mapmaker friend and I came up with and tested an anti-hack, map revealers owned by p1, so that unit priority places them at the top of the minimap. He used triggers to flash his back and forth between computer players, i just left mine a solid layer. However it is important to know that revealers cause major lag when used like this, and you will not have enough to cover even 50% of a 64x64 map (1650 revealers, 4096 squares to cover.) Then we thought about maybe making lifted terran buildings because they can cover a lot more area, but couldnt figure out how to cloak them or turn them invisible, because we didn't really want a shimmer during the game. However, this technique using revealers worked fine for my SpEeDBaLL map, because of the small area it is in.

For the first comment, i just use arrow keys as well. I believe starforge may have a "snap to grid" option listed somewhere.

To create them. I've tried giving them away.

And why use the snap to grid feature if starforge auto places revealers for you under tools? confused.gif

Yes, but i would advise using SCMDraft 2 to place them, it sets them apart, so that they will open in other editors.
