So I came into a fast food resturant the other day (the name was mc donalds) with some of my friends (we are asian). We do not look young as it may seem. Anyways a guy walks up to us and says: "Hey you guys have to be 18 and older to eat here before 4 PM." We call couldn't believe such a stupid rule we didn't think he was talking to us until he confronted us by standing in front of us. We showed our ids and we were well above that number. Then from no where he says: "you asian guys just seemed young is all" and handed back our ids. We were furious. Just because we are asian doesn't mean we are young. We left the joint quickly after and went for some del taco. What the heck?
I would like to point out two things. One:
How can a resturant do that? You can't just restrict people who are under 18 from eating at a resturant. I came back the other day and they were refusing to serve some children and forcing some of the older kids to stay outside and eat. They made all the children line up single file and order and leave. What's up with that? Isn't there some law here that prohibits that? Isn't it beyond the managers to prevent children from eating there? I understand they are young, but they come there to eat after school (the school is near there). Any opinions on this?
Secondly:
Racist remarks go rampantly. The white guy clearly was discriminating against us. There's no way that we were below 18. Even a blind guy can realize that we were above 18. What do you think?

macdonalds is the worst fast food joint you can ever go to. if your gonna eat fast food go to Wendy's.
Thanks for being on topic.
Wendy's is good, but its far away from where I live. I would rather not waste the gas to get there.
Woah, what the hell is with that. Racism and Agism, all in one restaurant. Complain to the manager or somethin, cause I wouldn't take that.
We did complain. The guy was the manager. We were getting really upset and he ran like a little doggy with his tail inbetween his legs to the backroom as fast as he could. I really donno what's up with that resturant but they give out free specialty condiments like "sweet and sour" and "big mac sauce," it's not like these balance out the discrimination though. Gosh I gotta get a dictionary or use the spell check more often.
my local mcdonalds dont do that. they even gave me extra fries for being asian XD
A lot of asian people do look young. I will tell you a story, it is 100% true.
When I was about 15, I tagged along with some friends to go to a Buddhist temple. I thought it would be fun. While I was there, I saw this cute asian girl who looked about my age, so I started talking to her. After a couple of minutes, an asian kid who was about my age came up to her and said "Here you go, Mom." and gave her something (I can't remember what).
My jaw hit the floor. She was in her 30s and I thought she was about 14. That may be an extreme example, but you guys do tend to look young.
most asians are smaller than whites. "about 6 inch difference" but iam 6'8 so no matters XD
Well most resteraunts set up restrictions because of things people do.
I remember in freshmen year, a whole group of us would go to Pizzahut, which wa across the street from our school. One person would order an all you can eat buffet, which tehy would pile up, and then share with the rest of us. As you might imagine pizza hut quickly caught on, and soon after banned people under 18 from eating there from 10:00-3:00.
We had to get back at them by going to pizza for less, which was another block away, and suprisingly cooler.
Anyway, my point being they probably had their reasons for the age restriction, but the racism was uncalled for.
Mcdonalds sucks horribly, there Food is so Terrible for you also, For Example, One Double Cheeseburger from Mcdonalds has 650 Calories and 12 Grams of Fat in it, Think of How much a Big Mac has. Why would you ever go There, Go to someplace where the Food isnt Boiled in Greese, Wendys or something
Watch "Super Size Me" sometime. It will make you want to amputate the word "McDonalds" from your memory.
I suppose so. McDonalds isn't good for you but still... still...

Red2Blue, you said it yourself. You look younger than you are. Did you ever once just think that it wasn't racism?
And it is McDonalds property. They can do whatever they want. Making kids leave is a right that they have.

man i love mc donalds. I only like Mcmuffin thingys. I have it every 1 year or w/e. but everytime i do i pay for it.. God. but they sure are good. Funniest thing i find is people who sued Mcdonalds for becoming fat. LMAO! Owned..
Red, that's pretty damn shizzy what that guy did.
First of all, I think it is illegal to have age limits on minors going to mcdonalds...
My local mall does that as well. They say it's to "enchance the atmosphere", people younger than 18 aren't allowed into the mall past 4 pm without an adult escort...
But the whole racism thing, I'm sorry that I need to say this, but...
I doubt that the whole world will learn how to put their differences aside within either of our lifetimes. Racism is SUPPOSED to be illegal. However, it still happens. I think that McDonalds burgers aren't all that bad, but right now even considering eating them makes me wanna throw up. (I had like 4 slices of pizza and one was PURE cheese it was like ewww) But really, that's pretty bad. I have no idea why they would act so unfair and totally farked up to you, but, me being a white kid I'm not usually victim to things like that.
But I do think that's totally lame. It's saddening how people don't understand that that racism is wrong.
Right and Wrong are opinions. Just cuz YOU think racism is wrong, doesn't mean they did anything bad... Cuz they THINK racism is right, it IS right.
It's probably just that one guy or couple of guys who work at that particular McDonalds. Not sure if the 4PM thing is real. I would think it would be 4AM since there might be curfew things in some places to keep kids from wandering around well around past midnight, etc.
The McDonalds by where I live isn't like that. If you want food and you have money, then you'll get your food. Most likely just that racist manager, or perhaps you took what he said the wrong way. If that really is a rule, I'm sure he wouldn't want to lose his job for not making sure.

where you high when this happend?
J/k
i can understand them not being able not to understand how old you are. i look over 21 and im only 16 XD. It hasnt ever happened to me though... The racist thing... "you asian guys just seemed young is all" doesnt sound racist. true he could of said you guys. but he wasnt referring to your race. Except the asian part. I like mcds chicken blt

and frenchfries with coke... but im sorry you had to go through a racist part. Its happend to me alot also. (just not from mcds.) I hope this post didnt offend you

.
im not sure with mcdonalds but with a lot of fast food places and chain restraunts they charter the restraunt to a person. so technically its the companies place but the owner gets to do what he likes.
so it might just be something in your area and im sure that the person you spoke to was one of the worst employees. but yeah mcdonalds sucks :l

Same way that I feel about religion. (ie: certain religions may be taught that certain other regilions are evil, and want to alleviate that evil by destroying followers of other said relgion, etc)
But why not let them see that it's wrong? And what pekkel said was right, about probably 99% of McDonalds not doing that, but it still happened to red. That's like if 99% of life jackets work, and 1% doesn't, they still screwed up and people got killed.
There shouldn't be ANYone like that hired
I was enraged when i heard what you said. I can't believe McDonalds discriminated between races. I myself am an asian. But I never knew people discriminated between races. I mean, I didn't think people can do that. Whatever... Just go to a different restaurants or cook a Ramen noodle for yourself.. It is probably more healthy than mcdonalds anyways...
Be carful of your salt intake from the ramen noodles
