[center]Guild Wars: PvP

Players: 8

Be able to go into PvP (Player vs. Player) matches just like the real Guild Wars game. Select from these range of characters:
  • Warrior: Made for melee attacks and not a big user on energy
  • Monk: Heal other party members and cure them of there wounds
  • Mesmer: Place spells on your foes so that they will die quicker
  • Necromancer: Place spells on your foes to drain there health and give it to you
  • Ranger: The use of the bow and ranged attacks is the key item
  • Elementalist: Use air, water, and fire spells to help beating the challenging foe
In the beginning of the game you would select your class to battle with. Each class will have there own set of spells that they can use along with an in-game description of each spell so that the player knows what they are doing. Be able to select you own Guild Hall from a variety of StarCraft buildings.

Bring your StarCraft clan members into this map to go against other clans and clan members to see who is better at battling.

This is an idea for a map that I want to make. How do you guys think it looks?

Well, you can easily do it, just takes a while with all the triggers. But you should make it more like angel arena on Warcraft III if you have ever played that, so that you can level your hero up, learn NEW spells, spells IMPROVE, and there's stuff to kill. Items like potions and ethers would also be nice to add.

I'm not a big fan on Warcraft at all but I think this would be cool to see people going against people. Not armies going against armies or people against monsters... that gets old after awhile.

Yeah, but if there's nothing to do but kill people...Do you actually think that will be very interesting? When you have the same spells and battle tactics over and over again. You need to add something to do. Also, you need to add something that actually takes skill to do, everyone can start out with the same spells and eventually win.

I am planning on making a map of the actual Guild Wars game as well... but first I wanted to make a PvP map for the people that want to play Player vs. Player matches.

Why not just make it have PvP in it too?

Because if you have played the game there are Role-Play characters and then there are PvP characters. This means that since it is based off of Guild Wars that it should have 2 different maps.

The way I see this is going to take extreamly long time... Becuase i think you should make it when someone kills another player in the pvp arena they get gold.. so once there back out they can upgrade and etc. It will also be cool if people can purchase new skills, so this will be based on Guild wars but also be like SC version of it. Kinda like hero arena but 100 times better smile.gif if made good. that would be awsome smile.gif but also the point about extra hench might be cool smile.gif.. not go little bit off the acctual gw and just say there is like the guild leader can bring his own xtra hench for like tatics wise... that might be even more awsome smile.gif but henches will be weaker then the players.. but that gives the extra tatics part smile.gif and make it like elimate all types of game and where there is a avatar where they respawn.. becuase without that its not really tatics sometime. smile.gif sounds good dude just that it will take forever to make what i said...

This map sounds like hero arena, a lot like it. But if you do it right it could be as good or better than that, gl.

Lol, boyscout did you use enough smilies?

Here could have used more...

I didn't want to make the whole Guild Wars game and also add the PvP in it but if that would be the best thing then so be it... I am thinking that it might be better for people to have to memorize the skills that they get but then it might be hard for some people... I will think of more things for this then... My plan is to make this map though

Javaboy lol

well if you do put all the nice skill stuff and lots of tatics it can be great smile.gif but seriuosly it will take a long time.. becuase a lot of triggers.. the main reason is you let them choose who they want to be.. so thats like x something i donno depending on people and on each class...

The important thing with choosing different characters is to make sure no one character is better than the rest, balancing them can be difficult though.

Well... I think I am going to start an actual Guild Wars map here a little bit but during the summer I am going to really work on the map. The only problem is that if I put the PvP in that it might cause a lag in the lag due to the amount of triggers in the map that are required for the PvP alone. I will try it out then but we will wait and see when I start majorly working on the map.

I suggest implementing a spell system for ALL players, and having it so your energy is one of your resources (with a max resource amount) with a certain resource regeneration simulating the energy pips from Guild Wars. Just have a Shuttle follow your guy. For example, for a monk you would have a healing spell that uses a chunk of your resources to heal everyone you to set their life to 60%, or protection spell that uses all your resources to make units invulnerable for 5 seconds that are near you, or enchants that take away some of the regen in order to maybe give everyone else a small amount of resource per second, I dunno something like Blood is Power. The possibilitys are endless.

I was thinking on having the spells be off of a text based system... Meaning I am not going to use unit all of the time, just text telling the player what each one does and then having a unit be assigned that number in the text spell... Might be a little hard to get used to but it should be a major plus for the people that want more spells in the game.

Well. I am planning on working on this kind of map during the summer time when I have no school and am able to stay up all night doing whatever. I am hoping that I can do a good enough job on this kind of thing to make it worth playing though. The only problem I might have is making the terrain. I was never good at doing that part of map making.
