Night of the Living Dead: Houses
_____________________________

(note: Author is Ingwe[Elves], but that is me! Alt handle >.> )

Anyways, after playing the millions of crappy Dawn of the Dead games (that oddly take place in houses made of minerals and on the ash tileset) I wanted to make a DotD game that had more of a house feel to it, and that was just... better, and got really hard at the end.

So I came up with this little project I did over the summer. Since projects have kept me from doing my current map project, I figured I could release this. I've gotten mixed reviews of it on B.Net, some saying it's a crappy map (although the people only stay for 5 seconds) and others saying it's nice and hard.

Features:

-Realistic house floorplans using the non-isometric settings of Starforge, making a small town using the Twilight mapset.
-Police station with a parking lot and loads of hero units.
-Houses with their own special hero units.
-Doors, bunkers, and turrets.
-Mining is capable but limited in each house.
-Units can be made, and building is encouraged due to the increased attack and hp of the zombies with each wave.
-Boss units at the end that will cut apart any defense.

This is a true defense/survival map, where all you have to do is last the time limit. Whether or not you eventually do get eaten is irrelevant. I've heard the DTs are too strong, but then I've also heard that the final boss wave should be flying (they are currently powerful hydras).

Enjoy, and any feedback I could use I'll take if I decide to make a 2.0 or something.

ohhhh, i remeber old DotD houses...
it sucked.... mineral houses allowed only 1 or two people to mine inside thier houses....i was one of them. The only way you could really mine was if you could work together to build up your defenses. Which rarley happended. All in all im looking forwards to playing your map happy.gif

This map was okay. The terrain was alright, but this I thought this map is like the other maps, where names relating to Death were randomly slapped on (ie, Ghosts were not in Night of the Living Dead)

7.9/10

I havn't really made too many maps myself, and I don't really play maps or camps (except the doodan series), so my feedback is:

Don't Change A thing!

The map was great in my opinion.

If you are going to make a 2.0, remake the map altogether. Start from scratch.
any Ideas you had before while making this one and didn't use, use them in 2.0

Always remember: Brainstorm, write plots, then brainstorm some more. kinda like: cut once (build map) measure twice (disigning and planning).

GOOD JOB!!!
