Report, edit, etc...Posted by XpertGamerz on 2006-02-11 at 02:52:37
Hey, I'm new here and I'm having a hard time with the music on my maps. Is there a way that I can make the music i put on my maps louder? Because when I test the maps I can barely hear any of it. I even tried music editing programs but still nothing

Press f10 in game and turn up the sound effects

If it's compatible, you can open it up with the standard sound recorder and there's an function on there that allows you to increase the volume. Just don't overdo it or the quality will go down.

Also, you could try muting the game's sounds with the trigger designed for that.

Can you name a program that can make me do that?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Azu on 2006-02-11 at 12:59:12
You need a special program. Just press f10, click on options, then sound, and turn up the sound effects volume. It will make your custom sounds and music louder.

I dont see anything about sound effects volume
all i get is music and digital. And none of them raise the volume of the music that i put in the game

Uh.. digital volume. That's what I meant. It will increase the volume of custom sounds and musics in game.

If you run a Windows not sure if it works for macs just follow these steps

1. ►right click the file and select record.

2. ►Click 'Effects' at the top of the menubar so the pulldown comes up.

3. ►Click 'Increase Volume By (25%)

4. ►Play the selected music and see if it is loud enough

5. ►Repeat steps 2-4 until you get sound level that you would like

Theres always the simple solution of playing the sounds twice in the same trigger. It makes it louder. cool1.gif

Rantent, that give the music an echo if there are no hyper triggers... hmmm... Music Recording Program works fine for this problem.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Rantent on 2006-02-11 at 16:55:12
Have you tried it?

I've used it before and heard no echo... blink.gif

And hyper triggers don't effect how quickly things happen in a single trigger, unless you use waits in the trigger. But you shouldn't use waits while trying to play a sound twice at the same time.

I normally use CoolEdit to do all my music file editing, including amplification. That program costs a lot if you get it legally, however.

That wouldn't work...
because the sounds of units speech, attacking, building, etc. also gets louder... unless if you want the sound effects to be louder than the "starcraft music"

ADDITION:
I know a program that I think all of ya computers should have...
click StartMenu>Programs>Accessories>Entertainment>SoundRecorder

*Sound Recorder
open the wave and edit it cool1.gif
this program is very simple and fun to use

It did work but now there is the sound of static coming out of my speakers.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by A_of_s_t on 2006-02-12 at 19:52:59
That will happen, wont it blushing.gif ... Well... If your a really good music editor, and have a high-quality sound program, then u can fix that, but, itll be like that no matter what...

oh well, i guess some scratches will be alright.

Have you tried different music?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by A_of_s_t on 2006-02-14 at 00:08:02
I think if u have a sound program with filter extra, u could filter that damn static out, but, yeah, a 'few' scratches will be ok, ever think of re-recording it?
