Ok....after my 1st 2 posts i realized how much i dont know compared to what i thought i knew....so anyhow....yea...last question of the night....is there a way to change upgrade status through triggers (obviously this has to do with my first post) like...change a hydra from having +2 ranged upgrade to +10 in the middle of a game without making the AI upgrade it?

i know i'll be smacking my head once i get the reply to this one....

There are AI scipts to get Computers to upgrade. But is not directly related. It would be something likem the computer needs X minerals and gas and needs these units and these buildings. I know Heimdal did some research on it a while back. I don't have the map and his site has since been discontinued. I'm willing to bet Tuxcedo Templar has it. Wink Wink Tux this is your cue

But for your purposes assumeing your wanting to upgrade your humans attack it can't be done. The best you can do is give the player minerals, a upgrade building, and instruct them to upgrade.

Please do not make thread titles like "heh" note the red text up top.

When making a new topic for help, the topic title should be about your problem and not about "I need help" or "I don't get this". This helps other people get help as well by searching through this forum!

Think of the thread title as a title of the book. It should explain what is inside so we know what were reading before we click the link.

You realize that the AI's only force the computer to upgrade not human players right?

Well good night.

well yea, i want the AI to upgrade, since the humans players will be fighting them, and it's a rather large map, so (i guess i lied about going to bed) so......as the human players advance/lv up i want the AI to be able to keep up, so the game remains challenging, that's why i actually think the AI script thing'll work
thnx

IN the quick question thread he said you cant use and ai script wiithout distributing an mpq mod. so i think your best off making better and better units to fight and maybe dif comps with basic upgrade levels set higher.

You can have a second enemy computer player with higher upgrades set and give the units to them instead of the normal one.

By the way, don't be afraid to ask questions. This forum wouldn't exist if we didn't want to help people.

You want them to upgrade from that level 2 to level 10, well i think you could, however it would take a lot of time, researching which of the scripts do this.

Likely none of the current ones do, but i'll ask Mesk over at http://www.samods.org/ if he knows any existing Ai scripts that upgrade, though Bolt was correct a computer player wouldn't do it without the set buildings in place.
