Assuming either a serious or sarcastic tone, one member of each pair e-mailed the statements to his or her partner. The partners then guessed the intended tone and indicated how confident they were in their answers.

Flame posts are a natural attempt to gain a enjoyed reputation. On a forum, it's publicized, but at the same time private. Allowing the user to initialize in extreme activities in resulting in either gaining a enjoyable reputation or a smurfing name remake to not receive a unenjoyable reputation. Giving the user the choice of pass or retry, rather than pass or fail. Social interations online are the same differences as going around shooting people and stealing cars. The fear of consequences are to a minimal in the digital worlds rather than the real world. And thus the boom in internet dating.

And that's pretty much the sum of everything on the online world versus the real world. Reality, pass or fail; digital, pass or retry.

Yeah! You don't set the school on fire!

They flame because they are annoyed...And it is a habit.
