It happened to the dinosaurs Somehow, so why coulden't it happen to us? How do you think it will happen? Discuss!

Not sure, but really the odds of a meteor hitting us or anything else, isn't that small. It could happen anyday I think.

Possibly, although I don't think that's how the dinosaurs died out.

I know but i never said "thats how the dinosoars died" i said "if thats how" It could of happened many diffrent ways, i was just giving an example of one f the possibilities.

Humanity is definately gonna screw itself over. With pollution and wars. The advancement of technology is also harming us, as if there were such thing as robots, we cannot control them, making us screwed over when one goes insane.

I think when the stocks go down...And I mean WAY down...The economy will suffer...And the Great Depression II will happen. Most humans will die, government will fail, and the animals will reign again.

It doesn't have to be that big, just be really fast, and we would know if an asteroid or meteor was going to hit us, it's comets you have to worry about

I mean in a matter of centuries, it will gradually decrease and money will be scarce.

There are millions of black holes in our universe.. If one of them comes within 1 lightyear of pluto, we will get sucked up.

I believe that our own hatred will lead to our doom, with all these neclear weapons that our enemies are making.

Our telescopes cover only like, 2-10% of the sky, and, its a big freakin' sky. We know of a meteor that WILL hit us in about 800 years. We have lots of time to move it out of the way though. Nukes to deflect it, or even a magnefing glass can move it out of the way by burning precious few chip off the sucker. Although there is probobly an asteroid closer than that that will hit us, unless we do something about it. And just to say, that all of this is, assuming we don't blow ourselves up, lose the ozone, get too hot in here or have an ice age, (watch the day after tommorow if you don't know what I mean.)

Assuming none of that happens, I'm not worried.

Or wait, until somehow nuclear war DOES destroy us (hey, just like in that video!) and following the geological time scale pattern, a new and better species will develop! something like that...

I was watching the national geographic channel and well scientists have been predicting for many years already that soposibly a massive meteor is going to hit us in the year 2012 soposibly they think this because they spotted a meteor the size of texas soposibly heading towards earth is what they predict the path is, and if it doesn't hit the us it could his like asia but were all basically screwed because of the destruction and if it hits water well you think of the size of that tidal wave....

Nuclear wars and plagues will begin our demise, and then those who survive will be alone.
Or we settle other planets.
Or we kill ourselves completely with nuclear wars.

First off, the fear of war would weaken us. Then the pollution would kill 1/8 of us. Then the nuclear war would wipe out another 2/8 of us, leaving 5/8 of the human race left. Then a black hole or a meteor would kill the rest of the race of humans.

The more we worry, to more imminent you think it will happen. I'll live with it until it happens.

The chances of doomsday happening in our life times, or even our children's life times, is extremely remote.

Only one that has a reasonable possibility, is WWIII. Even then, I highly doubt it.

Guys, guys, we all know that the Mayans have not been wrong yet. We will all die on December 23, 2012.

But actually being serious, I don't think we'll meet the end of the world any time soon. It's possible that a meteor can hit us, but astronomers say it wouldn't happen in at least a couple hundred years.

the bible code or whatever where they use a complex code to find words or phrases in a group. it says that the end of days is 2012, although it also says that there will be some stuff after that date so its pretty much screwy.
