Time to announce some winners and dish out some prizes.
As a reminder,
February's Theme was
Vehicles.
Let's get that judging criteria out there again:
QUOTE
Theme (15) - Obviously this is the name of the game. If the map isn't even remotely related to the theme, it won't score very well. A map scoring 0 on this won't be graded further. Something that looks premade and just custom fit with a few text messages won't score very well.
Fun (20) - Important for me as I'm playing the map. Am I running around having a good time, or watching a unit talk to itself in a movie? If I ever go to this map again, is it going to be to play it with friends or to delete the scm/scx? This is probably going to be the deciding factor in contest entries.
Aesthetics and Professionalism (15) - Did you use one type of tile and no text color? Are there mispellings distracting me at every turn with some poorly made triggers? Hopefully you can create something that looks and feels decent. I'm not asking for extensive extended terrain or hundreds of sprites, a map with a unique feel to it should score at least an easy 10.
Aerial Combat 2.0 by
MillenniumArmyTHEME: 15/15
Planes shooting missiles. Woot!
FUN: 19/20
This map was crazy fun, possible a new map night classic if improved. I wish there were more game modes or options or something else to enhance it though.
PROFESSIONALISM: 14/15
A very high quality map. It does seem like it was put together a bit fast. I think the combat could've looked better or there could've been sounds or something. I felt a lack of "touch" while I was playing.

TRiGGaMaSTaTHEME: 15/15
Directing traffic of vehicles. Yeah.
FUN: 17/20
An extremely fun and challenging map. Maybe a 5 point budget bonus for getting every car throug would be nice. But still, an awesome map to play.
PROFESSIONALISM: 15/15
It felt good. Real good... except for a few stuck cars here and there. I got a warm and fuzzy feeling inside, like something from Tuxedo-Templar.

fritfratTHEME: 15/15
Stuck to the theme. A bunch of factories building vehicles we can fight with.
FUN: 15/20
A good team fighting map... definitely worth a try.
PROFESSIONALISM: 15/15
Nothing gross or offensive to the eye. The map looked good to me. Balance could be adjusted, though.

Third Place! 150 mineralshttp://www.staredit.net/index.php?download=4959Car Arena by
Fwop_THEME: 15/15
A CTF-style car arena. Pretty cool.
FUN: 15/20
Pretty fun to play, though it could be more challenging. Its a bit different from a lot of CTF maps. It looks like you'll need a full house for good games, though.
PROFESSIONALISM: 13/15
Despite its oddities, it is very well made and put together. I wish things would've been better explained. I had no idea the abilities were there, or where upgrades and things were.

Noteworthy Mention 75 mineralsDestruction Derby by
SlayerZ-Pr0THEME: 15/15
Fighting with cars. Cool.
FUN: 12/20
This map was fun. The speedometer thing was kind of cool. Originally I thought combat was determined by speed... I was wrong. Too random for my liking. Random fast paced destruction... if that's what you're into.
PROFESSIONALISM: 12/15
What's with the "under construction" game mode? The monster truck in chaos mode can become quite a camper. Gameplay is too random.

39/50(Note: from here in the authors shall remain anonymus to preserve dignity. Check the maps if you want to make fun of the author, if they even put their name. )ESCAPE.scxTHEME: 15/15
It involved vehicles... helicopters, motorcycles.
FUN: 08/20
Its a bound under a different name. Touch something you die.
PROFESSIONALISM: 06/15
The grammar and spelling was bad, the text formatting could've been easier on the eyes. What was with all the unplacable units in the beginning? No briefing. No title or description.
TOTAL:
29/50Warp RacersTHEME: 15/15
So you're using vehicles to race. Cool enough.
FUN: 01/20
Boring and incomplete from the beginning.... you definitely didn't even test this map before you submitted it. The triggers for the "warps" don't even include a move trigger? And that there's no triggers to make the "obsticals" harmful to the invincible Racers?
PROFESSIONALISM: 02/15
Terran Supply Depots? "Obsticals" and "Barracades"? I also think you forgot to set the "Obsticals" to computer player. The trigger work is terrible.

18/50Desert RaceTHEME: 05/15
We get vehicles. That's about it. They don't really *do* with them per se.
FUN: 0/20
We were trapped by a wall of civilians with 9999 hp at the start. The only race in this desert is dying of old age. We also get a Barracks of "buy weapons here" with no supply depots. The closest thing to fun I had in this map was stealing addons from the other testers.
PROFESSIONALISM: 01/15
Nice briefing, it went by in a flash. Did I mention we couldn't build anything because you forgot supply depots? Another map I can definitely say was not playtested before submission.

06/50Pac ManTHEME: 0/15
Pacman isn't a vehicle. Though it doesn't matter, because we never saw him.
FUN: -1/20
The only fun I had involving this map was writing these comments and the concept of giving this map a negative score. Very satisfying.
PROFESSIONALISM: 0/15
I played the map and nothing happened. I saved a replay and nothing was there. I opened the map. No triggers, nothing. You are aware that I look at the map and don't pick the winner out of a hat, right?

-1/50The maps are attached to this post. Enjoy. Maybe I'll cook something up for March. Thanks to everyone who submitted a map, both the good and the bad. Congratulations to the winners, you deserved your spots. And finally, thanks to CheeZuS, Horror, Fierce, and Voyager, and all others who helped me to play these maps.
