Staredit Network -> Website Feedback, Bugs & Discussion -> Just a little suggestion to moderators ^_^

Well, I have been noticing that moderators close topics such as "please send me a CD-key" and topics with mature videos, that's good, but what is the point of locking them without modifying, hiding, or deleting the topic?

Remember that locking only prevents future posting in the topic, but it doesn't prevent people from PMing the person CD keys. Topics like that should be hidden. I have seen a lot recently.

Also, some topics with websites being posted are being locked but the links are still there, this isn't the only example, lots of other topics have been posted, locked because of the links, but the link wasn't removed.
Example

So.. my main point, to all moderators, if you lock a thread because it has an illegal request, a malacious link, a 17+ material link, an illegal program link, instead of JUST locking the thread; delete the link or hide/delete the topic overall from future damage.

Actually, they do remove links and edit posts when it is necessary.

Someone asks for a cd-key > locked and the discussion is over. So what if someone PM him a key, thats his problem because it's not posted on the forum anymore.

THe example video is just funny, it was locked > No further discussion about the video. SO if some kid goes on the link? He view actually clean joke. No seriously, kids can get porn easier, google wink.gif

That was just a suggestion for future threads since it has been happening a lot lately. I don't really need any disagreements because it's just a "look-out" type of thing.

Notice how CW said suitable for a 13+ site? It's still on the forums to the average viewer though. I agree with Merrell, why are we going to allow people to look at the thread, but not post there?

Agreed. There isn't much point in hiding CD-Key request topics; they can just PM people if they're that desparate. Other such instances that I personally close, images and links are removed.

I think they should stop being lazy and pm you when you get warned.

Well...They have the right to close OR delete the topic depending on the content. I suggest that they should DELETE topics with sexual talks...It is Teen site...

I don't see the reason to 'hide' or 'invisible' a topic, thats pointless just delete it, not like its gonna do anything. but i have to agree with you.

But if the topic was closed to block it from us, and we can still view it, the block isn't working =\

That was my exact reasoning for locking it and not removing the link.
