So, I'm looking for this music editing program that can delete sections of music. Like say you have a song with 30 seconds of nothing in the beginning, or you want highlights of a song. I was wondering if something like that exists. I thought my friend said there was something made by Microsoft already on your computer that can do that but I havn't been able to find it. Thanks.

I use that and it works really well. It takes a bit of getting used to, and you can only use 2 feature sets at a time (chosen when you start it up) unless you register it, and it only opens WAVs, but it works.

For finer adjustments, make it display sample numbers instead of time elapsed and time remaining. I forget where it is, and I don't have it on this computer right now.

It took me a while to find out how to delete certain portions of the song. When I get to my laptop I'll take a look at it again and post how.

If you don't want that and you have Windows, use sndrec32 (Start->Run sndrec32).

Audacity http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

It's easy to use, and it's fairly powerful. Reads all popular file formats.

The program your friend is talking about is probably "Sound Recorder". It can do what you want it to do, but it's sort of like MSPaint, in that it's a hassel to do even the simplest tasks.

Wow, Audacity is a flipping awesome program. Took some time to get used to but in the end it worked out great. Thanks Psycho.
