Right now it's only ideas, but soon i'm gonna connect these ideas and write a book.
I don't wanna give details about it yet, but once i have chapter 1 I will post it here and SEN will be the first to see it

So... where is it?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mp)Blu on 2006-03-14 at 17:11:06
Its coming. I've started with the first chapter. I don't want it to end up messed up later, so the first chapter will have to go along with the rest. The poem i wrote will be in this book. I plan for it to be a big book. I'll post it when I have at least two chapters. biggrin.gif

Ok... Can you tell us what's it about?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mp)Blu on 2006-03-15 at 17:38:55
Like I said, once it's put together.
I don't want to say how it's going to be like, and later end up changing the whole book/chapter.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by fm47 on 2006-03-23 at 02:38:44
Well then, blu, I shall be looking forward to it smile.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mp)Blu on 2006-03-23 at 17:16:45
I'd say in about two months. LOL. Not because I don't have the chapter put together, but because of current problems.

Problems:
1) My computer broke down, so I use the school computer.
2) Starting Monday, I am going to start taking Driver's Education classes.
3) I don't have enough money to buy a new computer yet, although I have a job.

So tommorow will be the last day I'll log on to SEN for a while. cry.gif . Why me?
This Literatur&Writing section is the best! biggrin.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by fm47 on 2006-03-23 at 19:17:09
Ahh, what's wrong with your computer? Perhaps you don't need to buy a new one if some of us can cite the problem...

Anyhow, gl on the driver's ED and computer stuff ><
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mp)Blu on 2006-03-24 at 17:19:15
Well. At first it was going super slow. My programs took a while to load, especially SC. I kept using my computer, ignoring the problem. After about...two months, the computer broke down. It wouldn't even turn on. cry.gif
Maybe it was somehting I did. Because I would sometimes unplug the comp. to take it somewhere else[private(eww)].Since I'm a map maker, I like to do things in private. So, the last time I disconnected the comp. and reconnected it in my private space, it wouldn't turn on.
I think the problem with the computer was:
^/ My computer had a virus
^/ Something was wrong with the cord
^/ It didn't like me mad.gif

I don'tknow how you could help. But if you can, please do. happy.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by fm47 on 2006-03-24 at 17:27:52
Unplugging it shouldnt do anything... unless your computer is powered on o_o

I'm sure it doesn't have a like/dislike feature smile.gif

It sounds like a hardware problem (may parts are just too old and burned out or they may have overheated, ect) or a virus.

Does your computer even try to boot up, or does it stay off when you hit the power button?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mp)Blu on 2006-03-24 at 21:45:50
It stays off cry.gif
I say it was the plug because ever since I unpluged it, the computer wouldn't recieve any power at all from the plug(The bulb which indicated the computer was recieving power was off), and I'm pretty sure it had a virus. pinch.gif
Maybe buying a new plug will solve this problem.

Ummm...when you say you are making a book, does that mean you are going to be typing it online and sending it to those who ask or are you publishing a book?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mp)Blu on 2006-03-24 at 23:01:18
Well..this section is about writing. So yes, I would be posting my book/chapter online. smile.gif
Report, edit, etc...Posted by fm47 on 2006-03-25 at 01:49:34
I am writing a book as well... I've been neglecting it (sorry book >_<) lately, but once inspiration comes, I wont dare stop because starting up again is just as hard, if not, harder than starting it at all.

Hm... one possible thing is that your computer had a virus, the virus kicked out the fans, then your PSU (power supply unit) burned out, where the plug is connected to on the computer side.

What kind of computer do you have (brand, processor and speed, ect) and how long have you had it?

i.e.
Dell, Intel Pentium 3
5 years.

something like that
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mp)Blu on 2006-03-26 at 00:24:51
My computer is an HP. Anything else I don't know about. cry.gif . I think I've had the computer for 5 to 6 years.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by fm47 on 2006-03-26 at 06:46:51
Yay, blu's getting a new computer!
lol I think your PSU might have burned out if it's not even starting up... either that or the powercord died, which sounds less possible.

well dude, tell us more about the book. What it will be on? What will it be? a genre, mainstream? Give us some insight on what you up for.

I'll give only what I have.(Although it's not going to be about starcraft closedeyes.gif )
I have had ideas about a starcraft book, but will only continue if you only want a starcraft book.

What I have:
Book will be dealing with magic kind of stuff. The heroe's name is Drega. Drega is born in a family who is poor. Well, Drega is I frogot what I named this certain type of race, but they're not normal people. Some people are born with a certain power(s). They have what I call the "Divine Sight", which allows them to see things others can't.
The king is either to be given these newborns for his army, or die. Drega's parents don't like this idea so run to a place called "The Forbidden Land". I don't know how the "Forbidden Land" is going to be like yet, or who is going to live there. *Maybe people who don't like the king will run and protest from there*
The family lives there for years, until Drega reaches adulthood. On Drega's 20th birthday, while Drega is out hunting, his family is finaly found. They are slaughtered for not giving up Drega.
When Drega returns home, he finds his home destroyed along with his family. He runs to the locals and demands to know who the murderers of his family were. While the locals don't support him with any evidence of the murderers, Drega becomes enraged. He runs out of town and searches the forest for the murderers. He finds a band of men dressed in the army suits of the king. At the very second Drega is about to reveal his hiding place, and take his enemeis to their tombs, a figure apears. As soon as the figure appears it jumps towards Drega. Trapping him in place. Oops. too many details.
So the figure is a "Wanderer". I don't have the details for this character, because I'm at school writing this. I do have this: "Wanderers" are extreme warriors. Trained to kill. They aren't alive. Brought back from the dead by the king and his ability to use "The Divine Site".
It's what I have so far, if I were to make an epilogue of the first to three chapters, it would be explaining all this.
All and any help would be appreciated.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by fm47 on 2006-03-28 at 13:20:59
Very awesome idea. I hope Drega makes some friends alongst the way. Also, be sure you include some sort of explaination for the Forbidden Land (i.e. why is it forbidden?)

I'm going to ask some questions in case you havn't thought of them. And that way u can still keep your book a secret biggrin.gif

1) What power does the king have to control the people with Divine Sight?

2) What's the kingdom like? Sad, normal, happy, or trouble's-a-brewin'?

3) Is there a system of Social Status?

4) Does Drega ever make a friend or perhaps a love? I would think in that refuge there'd be some people he'd make relationships with.

You know.. the Divine Sight thing. There's a thing in the Chinese beliefs called Ba Zhi (or literally, Eight Characters). It has all those other things horoscopes and fortune telling with the calculations, but it's got something the other "scopes" dont have... it gives you a number from 0-8, based on the date and time you were born. The higher your number is, the stronger Yang (chi) you have, then of course the lower means the lower Yang, and sometimes even Yin.

Yin and Yang doesnt necessarily mean good or bad, but rather two topics of polar differences... but in terms of the dead and the living, Yin is to the dead and Yang is to the living. When the two auras have conflict, damage is dealt to each other, though sometimes one's Yang may be a lot lower than a spirit's Yin, and therefor only the Yang may feel the difference.

My number is low (supposedly 2.2) and supposedly, I am more vulnerable to seeing, sensing, and contacting the paranormal. In contrast, someone like my brother, who's at 5.4, is meant to have good luck, health, and success in life. Numbers like 6,7,8 are very rare as are numbers from 1,2. And according to the calculation, I'm also a "Yin" child... Interesting huh? biggrin.gif

Whoah. You know a lot! Think you can tell me mine? I was born on 12/19/89.
The questions you've asked are very helpful. Thanks happy.gif .

Don't do a fantasy story. By the time you're good enough to right a great one, they'll be a dime a dozen. Infact, they may already be that now.

I'll have to find a good calculator again (sometimes it's on a handheld device, some are on the internet, but the most accurate would be a well known fortune teller, the ones that know about such things).

You don't have to do it just for the sake of money, do it because you want to. You have the idea and it has capability to expand. If it does get published someday, you'll look back at it in the future and think "How romantic were my ideas and views back in the days."

Of course, we all would love to make a living by writing (most of us here anyway), so it's just as how artists sometimes have to create what the media hungers for. On the side, they can write other things that wont matter as much financially.

If you have a chance, look up Studio Ghibli. I've grown up with it (since days back in Taiwan) and it still grows with me now. It's been a great inspiration. Anyhow, if you ever get the chance to see Studio Ghibli productions, note the one called "My Neighbor Totoro"

Creating Totoro meant a financial loss at the time for Studio Ghibli, but the director had that idea some time before and has always wanted to create such a film... so he did. I'm not sure if it later then made a profit in later years, but it sure was huge where I lived back in the days.

I would suggest continuing or at least keep it on a CD so you can look back to it someday.

Thanks for the advice. I'll try to check it out someday. Since I can't right now because I'm using a school computer. cry.gif

Not all people who write do it for the money. Like us here that are currently writing in this W&L section. We don't post our things here for money, we do it for the entertainment of the reader. Also, there are writers who write for education.
It's not always about the money. cool1.gif
