Staredit Network -> Ideas -> Was wondering if anyone has tried these map ideas

I was just wondering if anyone has tried making a ride map that is like disneyworld's haunted mansion or pirates of the carribean ride. Just a map where you ride through like a real ride. That'd be cool.

The other type of map I was wondering was one where it would be a puzzle. Like the SAW movies. You, by yourself, or a group of people have to figure out how to get out or get something off you or something before the timer is up. Otherwise, BAM. Anyone whois seen the SAW movies will know what I mean.

Just wondering if anyone's tried these types of maps or will try. Thanks.

Ive played both haunted mansion and mansion of horror and all that crap.... as well as space pirates. If you think those resemble the rides at disney... you've never been there in the first place.

Im talking a "ride" map that I have not seen anyone do. Im saying I guess like a movie map. Like you get on a dropship that is computer-controlled. Then, it rides around the map where you see different scenes as you go through the map. Not the traditional shoot//kill... anything like that... Im talking ride. Ride the map through. No way to lose. You just ride through.

There are no maps that you just ride through and see different stuff. Listen, Im talking like centering location for view on the dropship as it moves around the map in an orderly pattern.

For example, pirates of the carribean RIDE. You could ride the shuttle that is comp controlled and it would go through a tunnel of a sort. Man, modify it after disney. You go through the tunnel and see a scene say of a probe patrolling back and foutrth with a crystal... a scv is trying to get that crystal... say its a treasure chest. It could display text, HAR! Gimme that there treasure... Then it moves on... make up different mini-scenes like 10 secs or less as you go on.

That is the kind of ride Im talking about. Like a REAL theme park ride... not a game.

That would just be plain boring and time consuming to make...

I agree with whiteninja2, That would be boring and you'll end up making it for no reason. Whats the point of playing / watching it if its not even fun or its not funny

Like a REAL theme park ride

It would be a map theme park
And there is no point, why not just go to a real theme park with fun

You cant say something is boring until you've tried it. Period.

And if you wanna get technical... Whats the point of any map in starcaraft? How does it help you in everyday life? It doesnt.

Now please dont say any excuses or rebuttles... like:
it helps with coding for computers-computer coding is much more complex... even a simple visual basic is much harder to learn than triggers.

Anyways, its obvious no one here understands what I'm talking about. I just want to say dont judge something until you've played it... Before I got computer, I thought playstation was best gaming system in the world. Well, it changed after. Just a mini example.

Anyways Peace,

The point of any map in starcraft is to play it and have fun
The type of map your making is just watching without humor or anything, not even a movie
Save urself time and dont even make it
