Some people believe that punishment system isnt doing its job right, For instances when a boy/girl is raped all that happens to person doing the raping is sent to jail for X years without bail so i believe and that all that happens. But for murder its just life jailment. Should Crimes like rape / murder and some others be instant death punishment, Because in the end you're just paying for them sit in jail on your taxes. Then we have gang colors and gang bangers, Whom live off your taxes while sitting in a jail may not be safe n all but have a work out yard, food and a roof over there head more then some people whom live on streets. Starting think Crime pushiment is lacking in some aspects and so on. Should goverment be harder on crime? push the death pushiment on lighter crimes? Or should it stay way it is ripping off people by taxing alot of shiz. Anywoot have your say and what should be improved and what not. I know everyone has own opinion about this type of stuff.

I say we close off a place in New Jersey, and make it a ghetto for all prisoners to live in. Living in New JErsey is punishment enough though.

I'd be happy to give the death penalty to them. I don't know why people got rid of that, it was really efficient XD

I'll give them the most painful death ever.
1. Tie them up tightly. Very tightly in the stomach/arms/legs but not the mouth.
2. Oil'em scare em.
3. Stab them with Hot Metal Knife all over except vitals, which pains them.
4. Then burn em'!

The entire prison system is stupid to me. It's like telling a 6 year old to go to their corner and think about what they've done. The prisoners aren't going to learn anything, they'll just become even more bitter. Unless its done to protect society (ie mass murderers and dangerous maniacs), someone should find a way for them to repay their debt to society by working for it.

There's been a few comments about prisons in my country which actually seem pretty logical.

If I'm poor or have a whole lot of difficulties, I'll just steal federal money and go to a federal prison for a few years. Federal prisons can be better than your normal life, you got pretty much everything you could ask for and the only people that go into federal prisons are corrupt politics, people who steal federal money and such. You have a good community of convicts and good food.

I gave that advice to a homeless person once.

I prefer two eyes for one eye. It keeps criminals away more.

I think the punishment given for rape is pretty tough as it is. Even after getting out of jail, they're branded for life.

I'm not sure if this is the same in all other states, but in our state all sex offenders are required to like report every year and stuff on their location and whereabouts. There's laws in pretty much almost every county that require sex offenders to be x number of miles away from public buildings like schools and stuff, making it very hard for them to actually find a place to live. There's even an online state site where you can view all registered sex offenders and see where they are currently living, it's pretty much like a lifetime paroll. I'm not trying to be sympathetic to this group of people, I think their punishment is fine as it is, they have to spend the rest of their lives with everyone's eyes always on them.

As a punishment for murder you get lifetime in prison knowing that your life will end there.

Well.. I don't know how to answer this, two questions are being asked:
1) Do you think today's punishment for crime is sufficient?
2) Should we waste our tax dollars letting murderers sit in prison?
Depending on which one you ask can change my opinion on what I would do with someone who has commited murder (This doesn't apply to someone with multiple purposeful murders, in that case I'd probably say just go with Capital Punishment)
Do I think life in prison is sufficient for a murder? Yeah...
Is it a waste of our tax dollars keeping murderers alive? In some cases, yes...

So I don't know.. I guess it depends on whether you care more about money or the person

Well australian prisons not even like american ones, we have alot bush land and let our so called convicts (hehe, what i like call em) live on a farm n work n get working skills so can go back into world with some job XP. But our crime system isnt that harsh when comes murder pretty much 20 years or life depending on it. But then again crime isnt as high as america. =/ I believe in Death penalty to a point of people whom rape or kill someone, stealing or fraud mah goto jail good enough ^_^;

I agree with Moogle becuase the sentences here are much too light, especially killing someone while drunk driving. In other countried people serve upwards of 20 years for that. Also, those shild molesters should get a LOT longer in prison.

As amusing as it is, the punishments in Canada are fairly poor. A person can be convicted of murder and sentenced to jail for 25 years, however they can be out in 5 or so years. A person can steal bread and be thrown in jail for 8 years. My opinion is that the entire justice system is corrupt.

Actually, I have considered it. I figured it would be bad idea ;P

lol. then again, if the family of the raped/deceased wants, maybe you should like bury them alive in some hole or something, so they feel more pain.
