[sub]Would any amount of money convince you of purposely obtaining HIV?[/sub]

No, money's no good if I'm dead.

If you were stupid enough to take the money and eventually develop AIDS, you might as well be smart enough to throw one hell of a funeral party when you die.

Money doesnt really mean anything to me, and purposely obtaining HIV is just stupid in my eyes.

If there is a HIV cure available, then I would.

This question's like one I saw regarding christians etc:

Do you believe in God and that if you do, you'd go to heaven?
- Nah, I'm going to hell and proud of it!
Would you play russian roulette with one bullet in the chamber for $10 Million?
- Yes
How about 2 bullets?
- Yes
3? 50/50 chance that you'll die
- Yes, yes I would.
What about 4 bullets
* after some consideration* - Yes
Why would you risk your life for money? Money does you no good when you're dead. Would you give your eyes for $10 Million?
- No, I need those to see.
You mean you would give your life for money, but not your eyes?
- Yes.

I hate ignorant people like that!

And to answer the question posed by the topic, no I would not.

Eh.. I think at the rate scientific research and technology are growing they'll probably at least begin to stumble on it near the end of our lives.. don't they already some possible cures that have been proven to have some effect but are still undependable?

[sub]No one with HIV has ever been cured to my knowledge. All we can do is try to treat the symtoms. The virus will always be there.[/sub]

One guy managed to fight off HIV himself without any medication. Apparently a very small percentage of people have a natural immunity, so they're studying this guy to see what genetic mutation he might have which has made him immune.

I think he had something called the delta 32 gene. They traced it back to a small English village during the black death....apparently certain foreign objects are unable to attach to the receptors on your lymphocytes. heh heh bacon juice lady...

Even if they do figure out how to cure it they wont distribute it because than they would lose alot of money

Anyways id say no because the gift of life is worth more than some money

If I were in my later years (like 70 or 80 years old), then yes. I'd give that money to my kids and grandchildren.

My life is just too good to give up right now. Also I don't wanna die like an AIDS patient. They die the most horrible way possible.

NEGATIVE!

I change my mind. I'll sacrifice myself for 500 billion dollars, then fund 80% to scientific researches ( 200 billion for AIDS cure, 100 billion for better transportation, 100 billion for space travel. ) 100 billion for my family smile.gif

( 500 billion US dollars that are worth the exact same amount of today's dollar currency )

And then inflation strikes!

i change my mind again. I want 1000 metric ton of gold. ( thats a LOT of money )
and I'll sell it ALL to US for just for 500 billion dollars. then... use it to research cure for AIDs and research for space tech, and then for my family tongue.gif

if i get infected now i'll die in my best years - about 20-30 years old.
NEVER, i'd better die a normal death then rot in a hospital.

Well, HIV doesn't exactly kill you, persay... HIV is short for Human Immunideformive Virus (I'm to lazy to google it tongue.gif) and it makes your immune system crash. It doesn't give you AIDS, it leads to it.. The crashed immune system does.

But because you have HIV, doesn't mean you will get AIDS

Well, I believe differently. I bellieve [startconspiracry] that during the 80's the CIA (Whos leader/head of office was George H.W. Bush) created it to kill off the homosexuals because of how George H.W. Bush was highly religious, and had the technology to do so. So why not kill off all the homosexuals becaues God says they are bad??[/endconspiracy]
