Whenever i save my map, an error pops up saying that it is not open for writing. The weird part is, is that it saves all of the new info, it just says it doesn't. what is going on.
(Usually it says it's not open for writing when i accidentally leave it running in SC)
This usually happens because you tried to save the game, while you were playing the game. And the save always works still.
I already knew that... hence;

Is this a major problem or should i start over...(would rather not start over...
)
Um, just turn off Starcraft for a second
Whatever... It's not starcrafts problem... its the map... I can have starcraft completely off(or never even open it since boot) and it still does it. I think it might be corrupted... just not so bad that you can't still use it... Ne ways i guess ill just keep chugging along with that really anoying error... Thanks neways
This can also be caused by opening a map with StarForge that has sounds put into it with StarEdit, and then switching back to StarEdit (after saving in StarForge).
It is not a major problem. It's annoying but in no way detrimental. There's a way to fix it if you did what I described with StarForge, otherwise I don't know what you can do either than grit you teeth and bear with it.
If you load sounds with starforge and than open the map with X-tra it can mess it up too thats why sounds best to upload with X-tra because they wont corrupt as easily
I have had this problem before. What I normally do because it does save it, just says it doesnt. I normally restart my computer!!!! Worked every time for me. On my new laptop it hasnt done it yet. I think whenever it feels like it, it decides to be a dink and say that. But so far it hasnt caused me any problems other than being annoying!
For me its usually because i placed invalid players (15+)
Some of they for sum reason corrupt the map and preventing it to be played opened or saved...
resave the map with starforge, then it will work... from what i remember. I've always had this problem, no biggie tho, just deletes ur sounds making you have to put them back in.. If you save with starforge two times or more than two times, the error will happen again. So to fix, save with starforge once it happens.
Open the map in an MPQ Viewer and delete the listfile. This will fix it, regardless of the editor you're using.
yea if its not stoping you from continuing, by all means ignore it till your done. then see if you can find the problem out.
for all you know you could be missing a file...dunno
