Yes, I've hit some trouble here whilst testing out some stuff that is beyond my 'beginner's' level.
I noticed that in the map 'Gassers', that powerups appear in set locations at random intervals (seemingly triggered by the countdown timer).
I have tried to produce a similar effect without success. Instead of boring you with really long trigger descriptions, I'll try to keep it concise:
I have switches set to randomise when the timer is at most 0 seconds. These switches:
A. Determine whether a powerup will spawn in a location.
B. If A. is true, then it determines which powerup will spawn in that location.
NB:
Hyper Triggers are in operation.
Right, here's an example of how it should operate if A and B are true when the timer hits 0: Any units for player 8 (comp) at the powerup location are removed; a powerup for player 8 is created at that location.
What actually happens is...nothing apparently, unless the hyper triggers are making changes disappear in an instant.
Here's the map file - rest assured that I will never protect my maps, unless they become popular.
Will's little rant: Map protection hampers the efforts of legitimate newbie map creators in their quest to make better maps... There's nothing worse than seeing some magnificent terrain or a cool (but not unique) feature in a map, thinking 'Wow, I'd like to see how that was done so I can improve my mapping skills!' Then finding that the map is protected.
