What is Natural Selection? It's the top rated mod by many gaming magazines all over the net. Using the Half-life engine, Humans [Marines] versus the classic Aliens [Kharaa]. The game is not like any other mod, where you can just change weapons and such, you can actually build basses and manage resources. It is the best, and only game that is a hybrid for first person shooter and strategy. Heres how it works:

Im most familiar with Marines [C'mon, who isnt?]. You spawn like any other, start with the basic weapons and such. You can run around shooting the aliens [Belive me, it's not that easy]. Heres the twist - You can command. You can walk into a control panel and control your players with ease. It's not that diffrent then Starcraft, so those who enjoy micro'ing and commanding will find it extremely simple, exept you control real human marines.
Building is not what'd you expect, their not gigantic structures like in C&C Renegade, their box size. These structures are a key point to the game, they provide new weapons, ammo and respawns. Just select the building icon and place. Building it is even easier, just walk up to it and hold down use. Marines are just like marines in Starcraft, and the aliens provide a very close significance to Zerg, with their creepy vines and spikey turrets.
You can even upgrade weapons and armor SC Style, and equip men with heavy armor and grenade launchers. If you love Starcraft and First person shooters, download this game immidietly.
A friend of mine plays it non-stop. He compares every game we play to it. Kind of gets on my nerves, actually, but it must be very fun to inspire comparison.
The game is dual genre, l dont see why he wouldnt. When your human, your playing Terrans in 3D, when your aliens, your playing Zerg in first person. The base unit for the aliens can climb walls, and evolve into stronger units with diffrent abilities.
