Staredit Network -> Miscellaneous -> Music Suggestions!
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Shapechanger on 2006-03-15 at 17:03:05
I am hereby taking the suggestion of Kow and meditating with music. The problem is, I don't have many songs that I like anymore. After listening to the same twelve songs for a year or so, they all suck in my eyes now.

Anyhoo, I'm not asking you to post your favorite song, I'm wondering if you have any songs that might fit into what I like:

1. I like songs with many instruments behind the main ones. I can't pull an example out of my mind at the moment, but this can include secondary guitars, secondary drum beats, techno beep/blips/noises, etc. The more the merrier. happy.gif

2. I also like songs to be fast. When I listen to music, my thought speed matches the song speed, so the faster the song, the faster I think. I like thinking fast, by the way. tongue.gif

3. One thing I don't like in a song, regardless of how fast or how many background noises it has, is the same thing over, and over, and over again... I like songs that fluxuate, if you know what I mean.

4. And if the song is one of those whiny complainy songs, please don't even mention it... I want to STOP being depressed.

5. Please nothing involving sex, drugs, alcohol, etc. I don't mind cussing.

Because rap music is usually just a vocalist and a beat, that doesn't fit very well with 1. Country I utterly can't stand because it usually doesn't fit any of the five. Hip Hop is meh, because it usually breaks 5 and 3...

Sorry to be picky sad.gif

I have plenty of money and am ready to download just about any song you suggest. Thanks happy.gif

Rap, or most rap, has NO art and contains no creativity whatsoever. It's pure crap in my opinion.

If your looking for less well known things that meet your criteria.
Dexy's Midnight Runners - Come on Eileen. Cheery, happy upbeat with lots of instrumnets. Has some fluxuation...
Manu Chao - Bongo Bong. Overall cool.
The Bonzo Dog Band - Ali Baba's Camel. A funny song, Ali Baba's camel loved him.
Chumbawamba - Many of their songs. They have lots of good stuff, with some variety.
Dispatch - The General. Overall cool.
Fatboy Slim - Rockefeller Skank. Fits the criteria, but does repeat some.
Jonathan Coulton - Ikea. Overall Cool.
Keller WIlliams - Freaker by the Speaker. Sounds kinda like jack johnson, but with way cooler guitar riffs.
O Zone - Dragostea Din Tei. I just put this one in for fun. tongue.gif

Eh...most fast songs I can think of are repetitive. And you don't need to pay for the music.. ;P

ever hear of ares/kazaa? (If anyone rats me out to some lame internet police, I'll kill you)

You can use and dl shiz for free...but anyway...

Some Nirvana is fast, some is slow, could help you relax a bit, I dunno. I've been listening to excessive nine inch nails. Though a LOT of their songs suck, I like the first album, and a few other songs. You could try to find this shizty game called arena wars and listen to the MP3's from that. They're instrumental but pretty cool.

Ever hear of daft punk? I don't like techno but they ain't too bad if you sorta like that type of thing. Or if you wanna amplify your hatred, you can listen to --

Nevermind *smiles*
