What feature would you want to put in a starcraft mod OR map editor?
Make it so I can press one button, then have my entire map be instantly made. Man, that would kick farking ass.
But seriously? Hmmmm...a way to have more conditions and actions w/ out interfering with the whole death counter thing that bliz like to get all nancy about.
One feature that could solve pretty much any problem:
Create-a-unit mode.
That's right. You can make use any model, weapon, sound, etc you want and you could make as many as you want.
Another thing that would be useful is if Blizzard allowed people to use MP3's into maps, instead of wavs.
Finally, I'd like a randomized terrain mode, and I mean things like water, critters, etc. It would make mapping more convenient.

Revelade...That's a damn great idea.
What I would want is a editor thats easy to use with great features(kinda like DRAFT but even EASIER!)
maybe handy useful features that hasn't already been made with the other editors yet?maybe have mree computer ai( to make it do stuff we can't get it to do like make an ai for zerg units to burrow or cast a certain spell, certain actions you can control units to do and extra ones, maybe im asking too much but it'd be sweet if you can combine xtra starforge and scm draft into one handy editor, but maybe support more things....

I've thought about this a long time ago. They really should do it. I'd make a super fast flying reaver with a marine wireframe that shoots out 60 glave worms per second.

Another thing I'd like fixed is the stupid wait action thing where they conjumble (that's right, conjumble) together and make the map go stupid on itself. Using death counters or whatever really is a pain in the ass.
integrated those... uberated triggers. (easier)
color change ( all in one )
trigger duplicate.
trigger presets.
increased trigger limits
increased action limits
more organized/classified ais and more ais.
integrated high level protector.
integrated file compressor.
importable MIDI(much smaller than MP3s)
random terrain generator ( types included )
integrated hack preventor.
1,000 locations
10,000 switches
And Revelade's idea.
If that happens, modding becomes less special

I Would like the ability to make 3D Like buildings without having to do it tile by tile. That'd be awesome!!
Essentially, I want something with SCMDraft's power and StarEdit's easy-to-use interface and good help. SCMDraft is powerful, but it's a pain in the butt to find stuff in the unit menus; StarEdit, conversely, fails at the power game but is VERY user-friendly. Something with both of these traits would be awesome. Oh, and I want it to explain what those @#%&$ "Cascade" options do.
Make it with dynamic triggers, mod capabilities, and make it so if wont play if it's a crappy map.
Hell, while we're dreaming, I'd also like it to be able to get me food, clean my house, and fix my car.
I'd really love it if you could launch the map from the editor, like hit a test button and sc would run and immediatly start the map in your mode of choice.

that would be a handy feature...that would cut the the time by a lot, but i would see some problems though...
what about making easier adjustable terrain, like premade doodads something like ramps that can go backwards off high terrain.
once we find about the secrets of the eud triggers and extended unts maybe you can add them in or would blizzard patch it again once someone finds it again?
"An AI that creates triggers when you think of something good"
No limits on anything. Ever.
Make it so the grayish color doesnt take over the entire text whenever you use it.
Starforge with the same trigger system as x-tra with x-tra having like a thousand more trigger options and no glitches. Not limits to the actions or conditions too. Even though there is a simple way around it, glitches form easy around that. Also when using StarForge to make the terrain, sending it to X-tra, make sure X-tra editor can read all ther terrain possible, like the black other than space, make x-tra spaz out and glitch everyhwere all over the map. And make sure people cant hack your map when you protect it!!!
If anyone knows about flash, you should know what an instance is. I wish that you could do the same with SC units, instead of naming them all the same thing. It really limits the amount of characters that you can use in an RPG map.
i know this is not related to the map editors, it would be nice if you can create more than 200 pop. in-game.
I wonder if there is a trigger set up where you can go around that, like set a trigger when player creates over 190 units, set unit count to zero. I think it will work!!!!

Another AMEN!
-More then 255 ups.
-More then 9999 Hp limit
-More then 255 armor
-Bigger space for unit names
-bigger then 256x256 without the game crashing.
-More color codes
-BIGGER UNIT MAX!(aka CCMU)
-A program where you describe the terrain settings and it'll input it into a map so you don't have to make the terrain yourself

Thats it for now.
That is a good idea, with all those upgrades on how many upgrades you can have and armor. That would open up so many different types of games, I wonder if Starcraft allows you to have more than 255 upgrades. Because that is a really random number, maybe it cant. But if it cant then hopefully StarCraft 2 would allow like 500 or something outrageously high!!!!!!!
Oh I cant wait!!!!!
Hoipefully more editors come out with some of these saweet ideas you all have!!!
I got another one!
A map editor with StarForge, X-tra, SCPM, and anything else good all in one!!!!
It should have everything good about all editors ever to have existed mushed together without any glitches. Also, you should be able to change unit supply cost.
Press one button...and lag be gone

Or anti noob button...So no noobs can interfer with my games...All the time.
That
Would
Just
Be
Wonderful
Wouldn't It
Has
anyone
heard
about
any
other
new
Editors
coming
out?
Maybe install a trigger helper that notices something wrong with a trigger so you dont have to test a map. It just tells you if you are wrong. That would be saweet! Also triggers that you use a lot already there, like just click on the trigger you want and it is already there. Save a lot of time instead of, over and over making triggers that are like create unit at location! Just because of lazyness!
