GearX Ball is a easily customizable Breakout game. As in customizable is that you can choose your ball color, turn sound on, enable screen flash, and many more features. The graphics are rich in quality. I tried my best to find good sounds. Sorry, there's only one background music for now. Feel free to submit some sounds for me to use in game.

If you ever get your ball stuck, simply press and hold CTRL + C. A popup box should appear. Type in suicide to kill your ball. You lose a life though.

There is several other cheats too. Maybe sometime later, I'll randomly slip out one.

Well anyways, it cool to see another sportish map about to be born/made.

I haven't played yet, but it still looks awsome. After I post this, I'm going to play it. I'll post in a few hours if I like it or not.

You need to install the latest DirectX. You can so at Microsoft's site.

Also, it's not a sport. It's an arcade game.

Did you know that you can bounce gold spinning bars to get points.

I honestly don't think that's going to come into play here. I'm pretty sure all of us have an extracting tool that can extract zip files, but whatever. I'd rather play Jardinians.

What's with RPG and upgrades?! I mean, RPG means Role Playing Game, it means you have a role in the game and you play that role. Like D&D, you don't roleplay a paddle!

Upgrades are not a necessary element in a RPG. Just because you play Crash RPG and all those other "Hack/slash" games where you only strive after gaining levels and upgrades, doesn't mean it is an element in the whole RPG genre.

I'm working on the level editor right now. Also, level 6 IS the boss. After that level, you'll go to world 2.

Nah, I don't want to put RPG elements in my game. I plan to add powerups though.

What's Good
Breakout, kinda fun game.

Good graphics and effects.

I can tell you put alot of work into this.


What's Bad
Your lives never seem to go down.

Bouncing algorithms are weird, I've seen balls go straight at a wall and bounce off at a huge angle.

Size is pretty big for a small game.

It's made in gamemaker.



If you can add in some new features that would set it apart from other breakout games, that would make it more interesting.
