Starforge(unadvised) Proedit(unadvised) and lots of other programs.

unadvised for proedit..? hrm...i thought proedit was the best

ProEDIT is the best. Ezday needs to stop smoking drugs.

Don't use starforge 2.0 to protect maps.

so proedit it is?

heh, i was considering GUIedit, but heard it was complicated....is that true?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Yoshi da Sniper on 2004-07-15 at 23:26:34
GUedit is unprotectable to newbies. ProEDIT is only unprotectable through hex editing, which will keep your map the safest it'll possibily be.

Proedit 1.4 is coming out tommorow I hear, wait until then.

Yes 2 good programs i would say would be Starforge and PrOEdit...But there is a site that contains a defective Starforge and when u protect ur maps it will Fluck em up...PorEdit protects ur map so that SCU can't even unprotect it.

1.4 will actually crash SCU (try it on matrix alpha if you have it)

Ack, sorry, didn't mean proedit blushing.gif
Meant something else, can't remember what at the moment.

I heard people use this "unknown" unprotector that unprotects everything even a map that had been protected by proedit.... ermm.gif

I could never get proedit thing to work, I would run it, click open, find the map I wanted to protect, and click "Open" and it would lock up every time.

ProEdit 1.3b is very easy to use. I don't know how 1.4 will be but probably the same thing.

When you open ProEdit and have the little green screen on, It has Open, Protect, Save and Compress. You will click open and open the map that you want to protect. Make sure you have 2 versions of the map. The unprotected(The one you keep to modify, I keep these in a folder called BeeR_KeG[eM] Maps so I don't forget), and the version you are protected(I put these along with normal maps).

When you got your map loaded in ProEdit you click Protect and wait a ouple of seconds. Afterwards you click save and you're done. Try opening it and see that it won't open in StarEdit.

Any other protector is bull censored.gif and doesn't protect crap. Proedit 1.4 is the best and you can't even unprotect it with hex editing... unless you were a VERY VERY VERY skilled hacker, although you wouldn't waste your time hacking maps when you could be hacking the U.S. Military or Bill Gates or even Blizzard.

Starcraft II!!!

I agree if your that good at hacking you should go hack elsewhere then maps which are pretty much useless for yourself... unless youre a mapper.

Yeah Yoshi Da Sniper was right. It crashes SCU. Lol. You can rarely even find SCU anymore. I found it like 3 years ago. Now all I find is forum post on sites about how stupid the program is.

I think i once saw in a site somewhere where u could unprotect maps with a HeX editor....Weird though.SCU is very rare now and hardly accesible by many people...

It was MEANT to be private. That is why. Oh and the only closest thing you can get to Starcraft 2 would be 3rd Party Patch wink.gif. tongue.gif

The creator gave it to 5 of his personal friends. One of them leaked the map to more of his own friends. somewhere along the line Archn got ahold of it and hexedited the name to make it seem as if he created it. Then he mass distributed it. finding the unhexedited version is very difficult. I have found it a few times but I never keep it after i download it.
