The Official Unofficial Weekly Quiz Every week ( or so ) I will create a Weekly Quiz. Each Quiz will begin on Sunday or Monday and end on Friday or Saturday. There may be no right or wrong answer to the quiz.
I will give forty ( 40 ) minerals to the person( s ) who says the right answer OR an answer that A.) makes sense B.) Can be backed up. There may be more than one ( 1 ) right answer. The winner( s ) will get the minerals through a PM and will be announced the winner( s ) in the next Weekly Quiz.
This is currently ( the date created ) in the Lite Discussion Forum, it may be moved to Null.Weekly Quiz #3
QUOTE
Three people check into a hotel. They pay £30 to the manager and go to their room. The manager suddenly remembers that the room rate is £25 and gives £5 to the bellboy to return to the people. On the way to the room the bellboy reasons that £5 would be difficult to share among three people so he pockets £2 and gives £1 to each person. Now each person paid £10 and got back £1. So they paid £9 each, totalling £27. The bellboy has £2, totalling £29. Where is the missing £1?
Yadda Yadda, same stuff in the other weekly quizes...
I still owe Doodan 20 and CaptianWill 20. They are being paid as I type this.
No one won the Weekly Quiz #2, no one said the right answer...
Will you win this weekly quiz?

There is no extra dollar left over.
It really is £30. They all paid £30, the bellhop is told to return £5 but pockets £2. Thats £28, he then gives them £3 which they split equally, this totals £25. You just added it up in a different way.
Damn it! I was hoping to gain 40 more minerals before I had to pay, but since DeathHawk did answer it first and did answer it right, he gets 40 minerals...
Silent, u did answer it completely, but, Death answered it first... Hmmm... I dont want to use up 80 minerals, and no one is donating minerals ( which I understand why ), so, to keep this Weekly Problem going, I will state a new problem.
I would've answered before him, but I took time to explain as I thought you wanted. Oh well, I guess I'll wait for the next one.
You didn't ask how the money was paid, you asked where was the extra dollar.
Study this paragraph and all things in it. What is vitally wrong with it? Actually, nothing in it is wrong, but you must admit that it is most unusual. Don't just zip through it quickly, but study it scrupulously. With luck you should spot what is so particular about it and all words found in it. Can you say what it is? Tax your brains and try again. Don't miss a word or a symbol. It isn't all that difficult?
This is the new problem.
No ( 0 ) minerals will be given for this problem. This one is just for fun.
Deathawk will be awarded 40 minerals. The letter "e" isn't used in it once.
Ahhhh... Dwathawk, I realize that now... So technacly I should be paying Silent.
ADDITION:
Jeeze, stop answering... lol. SILENT is the 40 mineral winner.
ADDITION:
So... should I post a new one?
Sure go ahead, but I'll tell you right now that I already know most riddles.
Ok, what about this!!!
Imagine a prisoner in a prison. He is sentenced to death and has been told that he will be killed on one day of the following week. He has been assured that the day will be a surprise to him, so he will not be anticipating the hangman on a particular day, thus keeping his stress levels in check.
The prisoner starts to think to himself, if I am still alive on Thursday, then clearly I shall be hanged on Friday, this would mean that I then know the day of my death, therefore I cannot be hanged on Friday. Now then, if I am still alive on Wednesday, then clearly I shall be hanged on Thursday, since I have already ruled out Friday. The prisoner works back with this logic, finally concluding that he cannot after all be hanged, without already knowing which day it was.
Casually, resting on his laurels, sitting in his prison cell on Tuesday, the warden arrives to take him to be hanged, the prisoner was obviously surprised!
Ponder this!
Ha, you'll go crazy with this one!...
Uhh.. what are you talking about?
I answered the question.
And stop googling answers =\
LOL IM ABLE TO EDIT THE MESSED UP POST
ADDITION:

Prisoner Answer: You are led through a sequence of seemingly valid arguments which lead to a conclusion, which quite clearly cannot be true.

Tch. The warden obviously knew he was going to think like that and picked a random date to kill him because he didn't suspect any of the dates.

I think it is a day of the following week. He has been sentenced Friday, and Tuesday is ONE day of the followign week.

HE WAS KILLED ON MONDAY!

Nice reading.
I think that he was killed because Ronald Reagan was the president of that time! Oh, I am so good.

Um...he was told that it would be a surprise, not that he wouldn't know it. He IS surprised. There is actually no problem with this.
He was surprised because he didn't anticipate to be killed on a day that he was already alive on.
His thinking went: Ok it's tuesday, and I'm alive, I could be killed wednsday, thursday, or friday. He thought if alive on wednsday I might be killed thursday or friday. Finally if alive on thursday he would be killed friday.
Unfortunantly, he didn't realise 2 things. He could be killed in a day he was still living in. And saturday is the last day of the week. Therefore, he was either killed on tuesday or saturday, the only days he didn't suspect.
Who said that he needed to not know what day he was being killed on all it says is they didnt tell them so really tuesday could be the day they chose to kill him and just didnt tell him
Jeesh, it just says to explain, it doesn't matter what u say about it, o and:
