Simple question: What do you use for GRP editing (if you do any)
Report, edit, etc...Posted by BroodKiller on 2006-03-19 at 06:04:50
To be perfectly nerd-ish, I will say that there is nothing like GRP-editing. What we use to call GRPediting are in fact two things: GRP-Extraction/Compilation and BMP-Editing.
For the first thing, we use RetroGRP to extract or compile bitmaps (.BMP files) from or into a GRP. For the other thing - tools like Photoshop, PaintShop Pro or GIMP are used to edit the bitmaps.

Yeah, I know...I've been in modding for too long....wink.gif

Of course, some of us dont' bother with all that fanciness, and just use MSPaint to do what we need, regarding the bitmap editing part.

this is best selection combo for editing and creating GRP
it is sure method in my experience

compile/Decompile ->GRP editor of StarDraft SE / Retro GRP

2d sprite editor
(it is not important what u would use that all tool is no problem to use just pick what u like thing )
--------------------
PhotoShop
Paintshop <- these tools are help u to use advance function and raise the efficiency of work

GIMPS <- it is compare favorably with Photoshop /paintshop and Totally Free
that is best good thing for user of Free stuff

Cosmigo's Promotion <- it is pretty cool tool to professional 2d graphics and animations
Atucally many pro desingers had been used this many times

3d modelling /rendering
-------------------------------
3dsmax
Maya <- you know what?... these software are professional and spend money pretty much

open source and free 3d tools
-------------------------------------
Gmax <- it is totally samething like 3dsmax and that's Freeware too

gmax allows users to produce everything from characters and vehicles to
landscapes and props. Not only do you get to customize your games with gmax, you also learn 3D design within a professional-level tool.

and this author is 3dsmax's staff and realeaed by that company

if u want that then pick 3dsmax or Gmax
There are a lot of cool editing functions in polygon modelling menus
and that is very easy~!

modelling or load 3d models and if u need then make texure and rendering to images finally
when redered images complete done then just covert to SC graphics
that's it....
if u know how to use Gmax then search tutorials for Gmax
and Gmax is same usage as like other 3d tools like 3dsmax / maya etc......
