I forgot SEN had a movies fourm. Well for all 4 people who read this fourm, go see V For Vendetta. RIGHT NOW. I saw it once already and I plan to see it again every weekened at 7pm. That's how much I love this movie. Also if people start talking to you about how it's related to the war of Iraq, kindly tell them to shut the hell up. It's based off a comic from over 25 years ago. So it's not some Anti Iraq War movie. Just has some simularties. For those who did see the movie, please discuss what you thought of it.
As a side note I realized today that Hugo Weaving was "V" in the movie.

I'm gonna see it. It looks pretty cool, but the trailers don't really show alot, just a vague summary of the movie. The Wachowski Brothers are directing, so it ought to be good.

On the subject of the Wachowski Brothers, I heard from a friend that one of them is undergoing a sex change, and will officially be considered a woman. The Wachowski... Siblings.

No. He wouldn't fit in, unless if he was a Facist that dies within 20 minutes into the movie.

I saw this movie. It was very good. There was a lot of symbolism and also plently of humor.

Apparently the author of the comic called the script of the movie "rubbish" and asked to be removed from movie posters and references from such media because the core message was severely twisted in the film version.

Yeah, I heard that the movie was very pro-gay (I haven't seen it yet) and no wonder it would be with one of the Wachowski Brothers going transgender. (Larry is going to have a sex change and become known as Linda)

It's not so much pro gay as it "Be yourself". Part of the movie is a flashback showing how the goverment basically went Nazi Death Camp on everyone and did experiments to gays, and other types of people. It's not really focused on gay being ok, but that you should have the right to be what you are.

I enjoyed it. Although it wasn't as confusing a plot as I would expect from a totalitarian state.

They did the screenplay, director is some other guy.

QUOTE
Voilà! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of Fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is it vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished, as the once vital voice of the verisimilitude now venerates what they once vilified. However, this valorous visitation of a by-gone vexation, stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta, held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose vis-à-vis an introduction, and so it is my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V.

I just saw it and it was pretty good. I loved that one quote
"People should not be afraid of their government, the government should be afraid of their people."

I thought it was okay, though it's hard to imagine Agent Smith kissing Queen Amidala.

I thought the ending wasn't as climactic as I expected. Perhaps the dictator went down TOO easily.

I thought the movie was very well thought out and made. The roles had the perfect people to fit in for them, also the guy who plays as V is what made the movie perfect. Especially when hes fighting the knight guy that was great.

Such a great movie. I'm trying to memorize his first monolouge, incase I need a back up for theatre.

Also, that dominoe part must've taken forever to film and set up...

I loved it on the first scene and on the last where he makes the town speakers play the war of 1812 music while blowing up the building/statue.

Dont know about the rubbish part, but yea to tell you the truth it did seem kinda pro gay or lesbian i dont know which one it is. Becuase at first i thought it was a guy but it was a girl and etc etc. You will know once you see the movie.. thats the only part that is a little confusing you dont know if the character was a female or male.. not talking about V.

The movie was real good though, hoped they had more figthing parts.

I didn't go see it so I will have to wait for it to come out on dvd. From reading what everyone posted sounds like it is a pretty good movie.

When they cut her hair she looked like that singer who tore up a picture of the Pope.
