Xtra is just a fancy StarEdit, so it is best for more beginner map makers (and some people like it for triggers).
SCMDraft is mainly for more advanced users who don't like StarForge.
And StarForge is also for more advanced users, but not exactly as User-Friendly. It is the best for editing square terrain, but not that great for isometrical (the diamond terrain with all the cliffs; normal terrain).

I personally prefer StarForge. Some say it is buggy and such, but if you learn where the "bugs" mainly come in, then you can avoid them.
StarForge Plus is just a little more organized, from my understandings.

If you use a combination of either Xtra and StarForge or Xtra and SCMDraft, then you can do alot more than just with one.

(Note that this is all mostly just my opinion tongue.gif)

I also prefer Starforge. I used it about a year ago when I made maps, and I want it again. Can someone please link me to a working copy? I've downloaded it, but I got an error. pinch.gif

Oh, Jesus Christ, not this thread again.

If you search for such previous threads I think you'd find a wealth of information in the topic...

X-tra Editor is my favorite!

I normally use StaForge for the terrain,

Then I use X-tra Editor (Special) for te triggers!

Starforge just because it has a more accurate tileset...IT is a great bound maker, and also good for straight pathways.

This poll is still in Null and doesn't belong here.

I will take a moment to impress upon everyone that SCXE has nothing to offer. Have a phobia of text triggers? Use SCMDraft TrigEdit Classic (or w/e its called) plugin.
