Staredit Network

Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> StarCraft exits when i run my map

I dunno what makes exits my map when sc run. It is my first work/ Map was created in X-tra editor & it is a great trouble with it/
p.s. Dont take a look on my English. I from russia & iwas very hurry to thinking about grammatic biggrin.gif

That is one hell of alot of units.

Anyways go around the edge of the map and delete every building that is placed partly off the edge, i think i saw two just along the top. (just make sure the entire building is within the limits of the map when you replace it)

And what is max limits?
I try delete evere type of unit untill there stay on my map units placeable in base mod of X-tra editor.

Max Units is 1650, your map has about 1200. Max strings is 1024 i don't think he is near it yet. athough he has the locations maxed.

Do any of you guys know why the limits are as they are?

i dont think it has to do with the color bytes only if its past 255 THEN it wud quit cuz thats what happened to my DotD map

Anyway, make sure you didn't create any Independent CC or sprite taht will crash the game.

But in Base editor you couldn't place buildings on unplaceable terrain/ there are only X-tra triggers. When i use programs like scmdraft the result is very poor, bcause i donno everything about this program.

On the problem: make sure you dont have any portraits in the briefing or something for ones that dont exist. I havent looked at the map yet so..

I just use SCM DRAFT for building placement then you get the nice grid placement plus the place on any terrain

You should place buildings like this last.

I ve read everything on this page.
I just donno why my map is exits, many times i try to find all mistakes but its so bore and the results is was=SUX.

1. Don't change the way your strings work/don't manipulate them in any way like change the limits.

2. Make sure all buildings, units, and sprites are not even partially off the map.

3. Make sure all units/buildings are 2 squares away from the bottom of the map.

4. Don't use censored.gif ed up ASCII code in your triggers.

5. Don't give units extremely long names because half of the name doesn't show anyway.

6. Don't use any players other than 1-12 unless you have knowledge of their actions.

7. Don't use pre-placed disabled sprites or units if you don't know what they do.

8. Remove your pre-placed interceptors because they don't do anything.
