Its fairly obvious NR is back. Do we ban him/her?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Moogle on 2006-03-25 at 02:53:27

I allowed his existance.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by MillenniumArmy on 2006-03-25 at 12:40:44
That person should be banned anyhow

- If he/she truly is nuclearrabbit, then she should be banned for trying to fake a death
- If he/she is just pretending to be nuclearrabbit, then we should still ban her for making fun of NR's death by pretending to be her.

ADDITION:
but, I am VERY convinced that NR died. Because the way the last post made from the NR account sounded very adultish. And that I remembered having a conversation with NR and he/she was telling me about her having a brain tumor and that the doctors say he/she wouldn't live for too long. And it turns out months later, she did die because of some tumor, most presumably the brain tumor. And knowing him/her, I wouldn't think she would fake her death...

That one person who some of you guys might be suspecting is NR might've studied NR's personality after she died, tried to be just like her in every possible way (such as posting in the what the heck are you listening to thread, same post formats, etc) But I dunno, that's just me

ADDITION:
OH WAIT, NEVERMIND THAT.

I just now noticed that the NR account is back. I still don't know if it's truly nuclearrabbit; maybe must've been someone that hacked into her account. But yes, since she was "dead," kill that account.

Faking your own death looses your own respect. I don't know... it was stupid and retarded, sure.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by MillenniumArmy on 2006-03-25 at 12:50:05
Still not convinced.

What would convince me is if I see a post made by a nuclearrabbit made before the day she supposedly died say that she was faked. On that link, it said nuclearrabbit joined on Feb 19 06. Had it been anyday before December 29 (or 30, forgot which day,) I would've believed him/her.
Once someone dies, that person will have lost all credibility and thus we can no longer trust his or her "ghost," if not their real selves.

Most of you know me from SEN, but if that's the case, you really don't know me.
The biggest things is; I'm obviously not dead.
Secondly, I'm not a girl.
Right now, that's all you need to know.

If that's so, then why did she just post an attachment of all her pictures and then say that she and Kame should have a party?

but w/e, ban that account. She said she was dead, then her account should be dead as well.

I say ban.

I'm really tired of all of these crappy "exceptions" to the rules. If you're "dead", your account is deleted. All of them.

Death isn't something that should be played around with.

The same account is active again. Ban. We need to ban everyone connected to the recent double accounting, no exceptions. Good riddance.

Considering no new ip address has been generated since December 2005... and current and old address resolve to the same isp... I would assume NNR = NR.
Unless it's a family member farking around. But who would do that?

There is nothing in the rules or FAQ about faking death, so I say let's go around with a 2 week suspension and +40% warn level.

We should write about any future punishments for future "Fake deaths".

Beer, that's ridiculous for two reasons:

One, if you're dead, you shouldn't be able to come back.

Two, death should not be played around with.

This person claims to have "died". Therefore, it is only logical to accept that and delete the account (at the very least).

If this person did not die, then he should be punished by playing around with death. By purposely making an entire community sad.

If we can't ban, at least delete the account and all related accounts (given proof that they are related of course).

The only problem is that they'll come at us saying that we didn't say that was against the rules or anything, that's the only reason that I wouldn't ban the account. Besides that, by all means ban it.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by CheeZe on 2006-03-25 at 18:03:38
I know that. He didn't "break" any rules.

But we will listen to what he said. He said he died. Why should we waste space with dead people?

I think it'll fall under the "don't be stupid" rule biggrin.gif.

I vaguely recall that NR had mentioned a project he started for a Mac-specific StarEdit program with functions mimicking those of SCXE. That's something I don't think many people know about. Maybe we can use that to check the legitimacy of NR's identity?

So the main issue seems to be we have to both honor someone of they have died and we can't let them abuse our trust. So I think the best way to deal with it is just to not allow death topics unless it's an admin or something.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by DT_Battlekruser on 2006-03-25 at 21:01:17
First of all, something doesn't need to be stated in the rules if it's overtly wrong.

Second, it's been clearly stated that we would ban any members that "returned from the dead".

Thirdly, I don't care if it is NR or not. It is the same MID, and under our stated rules, you are responsible for everything happeneing under your account.

We need to start enforcing our rules.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Mini Moose 2707 on 2006-03-25 at 22:38:30
Either way, anyone who "dies" from now on gets put in the no-permissions member group I created, where "banned" users go.

So then you agree that we should at least delete the account?

I believe Yoshi said to ban if he were to come back (in case it was fake).

Can we stop saying we're going to ban all these people and actually do it?

Nuclearrabbit is dead. I don't delete accounts anymore though. smile.gif
