Staredit Network -> UMS Showcase -> Nintendo Rpg

This is my first real shot at making anything good (unless I finish Suits of Armor) so I hope this will work in my favor.

As any RPG should have, this has a plot, protaginists, antagonists, and somehting new.
The story: A Power Surge occurs in a Nintendo Gamecube, throwing everything off balance inside. There were only 4 games on the memory card: Super Mario Sunshine, Metroid Prime, Kirby's Air Ride, and Ocarina of Time Master Quest. The owner doesn't realize the surge happens, so he puts in a game and...Mario starts up. But now, Samus, Link, and Meta-Knight are stuck in Mario's game! The surge created a void which made it so whoever was within it would be in the next game that started. This normally occurs with seperate voids that the characters would be within in seperate games, but the voids collected into one big one. Now the characters must return to thier own worlds and stop the voids from ever collecting again.

The problem: The characters must return to thier own worlds now, though they are trapped within each other's worlds.

What this game has: This game has a dropship spell system, and periodically spawning enemies. To earn points, you must kill enemies. To use points, you have to beat the level. With your points you can upgrade your attack, defense, or upgrade a spell. If you make all your spells reach level 3, you can buy your final spell.
For video game reality there will be music and sounds for characters and areas. The way to beat an area is new (to me anyway). To beat an area you must search through a large maze to find the exit before time runs out. If time runs out, you lose all your points and you are brought to the next level. If you make it though, then you can cash in your points for upgrades.
Within levels you can find healing points and many monsters. Using 3 computers, the monsters ahve a level up system where if you are too slow to get thorugh a level, the enemies grow more powerful to compensate. If you die, you lose all your points and are forced to wait until the next level.
Bosses have special fights, as an example:
In the Metroid area, you must beat the Mother Brain as the final boss. Samus is put on the platform with the Mother Brain while the other 3 are on an unconnected platform right next to it. Samus' objective is to destroy the Mother Brain while the other 3 destroy the Photon Cannons firing at Samus. If a cannon is destroyed, enemies start spawning from its remains.
For the Mario area's final boss, please note that only Samus can fire at air targets. Mario, for this fight, gains the ability of long range and has to defeat a flying King Bowser with Samus along, while the Link and Meta Knight players must defeat the enemies coming onto the arena to protect Samus and Mario.
There are also many cutscenes involving the characters, and I hope that this will become a full fleged RPG.

As a side note, this will take place over multiple maps for 1.) Space and 2.) Terrain types.

lOl sounds good (story anyway)

-single player only though..(multiple maps)

I've wondered..is there a way to carry information from one map to another? (without having a super large amount of maps each carrying a slightly different information)

I have lots of nintendo music if you want them, good luck with the map.

Cheese, I wonder if every person had the maps in the same folders as each other, would the map link work? I noticed that on a cutscene map I made, it wouldn't load the next map UNLESS it was within the same folder.

Revelade, I might be set with music, but I'll PM you if I need any.

It doesn't HAVE to be in the same folder, it only has to be in the right path. You could make the next campaign in C:\Windows\Porn\ and still have Starcraft load it if the triggers would only read the map from there.

Ooo, nice idea, I thought of it recently, not really much as a mapping project though.
Too bad it'll require several map files, if not for that then if I could only ever have an Rpg by someone else(as in, that I don't create myself) then it would be that.
lol

...So are you allowed to make multiplayer multi-map campaigns that link to each other?

The map sounds intresting, but you have to sure you are able to go through with it.

I'm actually going through with it quite well, I need to finish four more levels and then make locations and triggers. What I do need is stats for units though...

No, you can't link multiplayer maps, so...
either players will have to play just one and treat it kind of like a 'demo' for a game that'll never be finished,
or someone will have to get his friends together to play though it.
