This are my 8x melees, in 'The Hunters' and 'Lost Temple' versions. They are protected and for now the trick is a secret, so don't ask for it. If you discover it, please, don't tell it to much people before I can public release it wink.gif

Special notes about this melee maps:
There are some "strange" effects in that melee maps, that you should know before to play it:
-Units work at 7x2/7x4 speed (walk speed too!).
-Unit won't autoattack. If you want to attack, order them to attack to a terrain zone, so they will attack everything, and if you want to defend, order them to patrol.
-The units won't enter in a transport when you right click on it, you need to do it again when the unit is touching the transport and then it will enter.
-Terran is not a good race in this maps:
--The units won't enter in a bunker when you right click on it, you need to do it again when the unit is touching the bunker and then it will enter.
--Tanks in siege mode will attack only if you order them to attack on a target, and after killing that target they will stop. In normal mode they rarely attack.
--Goliaths rarely attack.
-Protoss arbiter have really weird effects and can be unstable. The units near an arbiter won't seem cloaked but they already are, also it will make a uncloaking/cloaking sound when there are units near. Burrowing a zerg unit under an arbiter and unburrowing it can crash. If it doesnt crash the unit will be cloaked (like the cloak zerg units glitch). Also they sometimes messes the game.
-The game can mess up randomly (all units can dissapear or freeze, in wich case workers inside a refinery/extractor/assimilator won't freeze).

I'm sure that there are also more weird effects about this trick. If you find a new one, post it here smile.gif

It's really 4x NOT 8x speed. If you keep playing them you will see weird effects. A protoss user who mind controlls a zerg drone will own all since if you burrow then unburrow under arbiters it will be cloaked. It has never crashed for me. Also, when you put arbiters near your hatcherys and morph units, it will act all weird and like uncloak in arbiter range and cloak outside of it than uncloak again and whatever. It can also randomly cloak other units in the game.... but ONLY for specific players! Other players won't see it cloaked and other players will! Example: all my probes became cloaked somehow, but only for blaq who was zerg. I was then using my probes to build stuff(It would look like some censored.gif just warped in from nowhere), also when you cloak a drone and building something like a hatchery in enemy view, it will uncloak AFTER it has been built so it will just "appear" before the player. Sometimes when you kill other players, it will randomly freeze all units in the game like the p14 map revealer. Only units that were in Extractors/Refineries/Assimilators are not frozen when they come out.

If you are not going to reveal the secret of x8speed, could you make a map with x8faster build time and gas prices corrected, because the gas mining is slower then x8 :\
Some people from teamliquid.net were interested in the map, because it allows to train both micro and macro.
Btw. I can't see any minerals on lost temple 8x. They are there, but invisible (disabled?). Or maybe the maps work in melee too (not in 'psuedo melee'=ums mode). I havent tested that. There is no way to mine them in ums mode. The Hunters' 8x minerals and geysers are correct.

Is it just my computer, or did Staredit just restart or something. When I went back to staredit.net at night, the account I made in the morning did not exist! And I was able to make the exact same account again, so that means the thing dosen;t believe I exsist!

O well, I'll just repost wat I said before

for some reason I can';t seem to dl the links, and when I 'Save target as', it counts it as 0 KB, and it corrupted in SC

I already released this trick, but I think that the post got deleted. It's just a p14 scarab or interceptor.

Is the other map exactly the same? Or are the unit build times changed too? And the gas cost? (in the other version)
Perhaps there is a tool which allows to change these values for all the units (not manually one by one... this tool is called staredit smile.gif ) if one adds a proper value (for example 1/8 build time of all units and 1/10 gas cost).
There is a guy who wants to make a real x8 melee map, whom I try to help, so maybe you know a tool, which would change all that values (I would find them and just write them in the fields smile.gif -of course if such tool exists :\ ) and I would just add the player14 scarab in coordinates 1,1 and send him the map?
Im not in the mood for changing all these things and he said he doesnt know the map editor well.

You can use GUEdit for that. But, be warned. The speed increase is NOT 8x, not even close. Try something like cutting it to 1/4.
